I have mono..

..thanks a lot Tyler... for giving me "the kissing disease".

I feel awful... exausted but can't sleep... if you felt the size of the glands in my throat you'd gag... if you looked down my throat you'd hurt... I cannot breathe... I get random fevers... and now I found out I can't move too much or my spleen could tear and that's 4 weeks so my summer looks really WONDERFUL doesn't it?? I'm really lucky, I think. I must be cursed for all the summers of my life to come, like last one wasn't bad enough... with accidents... now it's diseases... great. I have to go to Paris for a week next week... and I'm going to Disneyland, don't care!! Guys if my spleen breaks... and I die... farewell.

 

OMG I am sooooo sorry. Mono was the most horrible feeling think I have ever had ): I ended up in the hospital before we found out it was just mono. Take it really easy and sleep as much as you can. Have them give you a narcotic pain reliever too-no sense in suffering when you don't need to. Also, they gave me steroids to help with how much weight I lost (god wish i had that prob now ) and build up more energy. those got me better really quick after suffereing for months.

yeah I could use some energy.. feel so tired I can't sleep tho and right now the biggest problem is how I can't breathe

 

be REALLY pushy with your doctor and research on the internet how to get better fast. Mono is serious when you are older. I had it when I was 23 and I really did almost die from liver failure and an enlarged spleen. take lots of vitamins too and pot helped me eat.
really take care of yourself and make your doctor take you seriously, especially since your family is not here to do it for you.

thank you, I'm very scared... my family is here tho I'm in France right now. I'm so scared to have a spleen problem or worse... this really sucks, I was looking forward to having fun this summer and this really blows. I am also so scared now everybody I know knows I have that, no one is gonna wanna kiss me being scared they'll get it too... cause once you have it in your glands... it stays there forever right? This is so depressing...

I highly doubt that should really be an issue. I don't think it's contagious for all that long.

yeah, but most people have already had it and you can only get it once (like chicken pox) plus it's only active for 6 months so after that it's dormant and you can kiss people I am a kissing whore when I am single and got lots of people sick because I had no idea I had mono...I felt kinda slutty when people found out I was the mono fairy d:

 

Even just kissing? ): Not that I am not a monogamous kisser now. I am just sad for others because kissing and making out rocks.

my frind from work and school got mono and i havent seen her since the second to last week of school. have your friends over to make you laugh. but dont laugh so you dont hurt. enjoy the laugher with a straight face.

 

right now.. I wanna shoot my throat because it hurts so bad I am crying because of the pain.. and as soon as I leave the bed I feel like I have just ran a marathon

 

call the doctor and go in for an anti inflam and pain shot and have them give you some damn pills woman. don't suffer!

 

man monos a bitch. i had it earlier in the year. i was out of school for like a week and then i came back for a couple half days. then a few full days for a month. it was horrible. i still get randomly tired and like can't do anything. but theres nothing you can do. just find some good movies or a book or something.

its boring as hell to have. =]] i feel for ya girlie. and you won't be contagious forever.

I had to rush to the doctor again this morning cause I couldn't sleep because of the pain in my throat last night, I got up in tears crying for my mom like a baby, she called 911 (well the French equivalent, 15) and they told me to go to the emergency local doctor (it was 7am) and she gave me scripts for cortisone for a few days so I can breathe and oh yes opium powder+morphine and THAT works... unlike freakin acetimanophen and ibuprophen... besides she was shocked when she looked down my throat, and so was I in the mirror... it's SCARY white and huge...
