Wow. Okay, so every time I get in my car and drive crazyleg's signature goes through my head...I think it's something along the lines of "it's the damn cars. Get rid of your cars." and I think about how I should be riding a bike or walking or even taking public transportation. Literally, every time I drive. It just stuck with me, I guess.

    So look what happened today.

[IMG] I rear ended some poor lady. And not in the fun naughty way either...this was just a love tap, and it messed my car up this badly. Imagine if I'd been going faster.
Why are we operating machines that can do so much damage? It's scary.

i do agree. but in my area i sort of need a car. however if it does make any sense i may be buying my dad's prius from him. he got a new one a few months ago and next year may want to get a new one so i can buy his current one.

knotdirty, i'm sorry about your car =[

i want to get a car that won't cause as much damage to the enviroment as others
and i was actually having a conversation about this with my best friend...and i mentioned what car i wanted. And she told me that she didn't want to get a car, she would just use her bike =D I told her she was so cute =]
i love her for thinking that way, and wish her luck...riding her bike everywhere will be a bit hard hah since we live pretty far from the city.

    peace
    love Jane

The fear of hitting pedestrians is the last thing I would get rid of my car for, haha. It's more the environmental thing indeed. But I do feel guilty sometimes, yes. But it just saves so much time, and I do like driving actually. I hope the world runs out of oil quickly, and clean(er) cars become the standard.
If the weather's ok and the distance not too long I do ride my bike though!

Give it a nice groovy colour, and your car looks reborn again :) It would also bother me if i had a car, but im only 14. I hope the future has something better. There are cars who dont use bad stuff. And they weren't any harm for the enviroment. But expensive..

I don't have my own car, by the way. I mostly borrow my mother's.

to be honest it wasnt my money that paid for the car.... and as DSOTM said no car on this planet is worth two cents, just so happens that when you are a 30 minute drive from everywhere, its quicker then a bike. Hell a bike would take hours, car takes 25 to 30 minutes....

Maybe one day it will all be converted to bio diesel....... then again maybe not.

thats pretty much why I have that car, good on gas (some of the times lol) and radio works, and it gets me where I got to be, other then that I dont really like to drive unless i got to go somewhere, I am not one of those people that can just take the tops off, and go driving around for hours just wasting gas for the fun of it, hell that stuff cost too much to waste, and why polute the earth more then it already is with wasteful toxins in the air, when you really are going nowhere fast.

A volkswagen van is nice indeed. But I prefer any 'old' (eighties will do) car above the nowadays models, actually.

I don't get what's so beautiful about all those aerodynamic speedcans. Give me an oldfashioned car with a real trunk and a straight forward engine hood anyday!

    Here, what's better:

    I agree with this.
A used car is just as good as a new car.
As long as it gets you where you need to go.

I haven't owned a car in 35 years, and even though I ride in other people vehicles, I only do it once a week, to go to town to get supplies and such.

If everyone just limited their trips, things in the environment would be alot cleaner, and there would be less accidents etc.. It's not the cars so much but the immoderation that most people exhibit when they do things. Just drive less, walk or bicycle more (for your health and the environments), and do your part to make this earth a cleaner , more liveable place.

I have a crippling fear of driving
    because of my
    morbidly vivid imagination, actually.

I can see this awful, bloody
picture in my mind of the
    person I could potentially kill.

    And it scares me.
And now my permit expired and
I never got to taking my driving test.
