hey all. i have a bunch of small plants that will need to be transplanted into larger containers in the next week or so. i was wandering what i could use for cheap buckets. the pots at dollar stores and lowes are all atleast 3 bucks a piece, and i will need like 50 of them (too expensive needless to say). i like the pots that plants come in from the garden store (the kind of cheap, 12-16 inch ones that are green and come with small shrubs and trees when u buy them) but i cant find anywhere that sells just them individually, i would think they would be like a dollar or something. if i didnt have so many plants, i wouldnt mind spending 3 bucks a pop, but since i have quite a few, i would like to find a container that is pretty cheap but will work just as well. does any1 know who sells the cheap plastic pots i mentioned above? they dont have to be too large considering there is only about a 1.5 months left for them to veg, but the red drinking cups they are in wont be cutting it in a few weeks, and i dont want root bound plants. any suggestions? they dont need to be coinventional pots u know, just something that will hold soil, is a dark color (for camo, i can spray paint them a little if need be). any thoughts? thanks alot
Find a nursery and ask them. I picked up 10 for $2 for my tomatoes and herbs. Container gardens are fun. You can buy like 50 online for $30. http://www.growerssolution.com/page/GS/CTGY/casepots
If i were you i would just plant in the ground, but then again you arnt me. Like posted above call local nurseries some collect pots and then plant more plants in them. Also some nurseries when the plants die they throw the plant plus pot away so you might want to ask them to save them for you.
