So I went to a Bob Dylan concert up at Woodstock tonight, it was good but he doesn’t sound anything like he did on his older records. So was anyone else from the forums there?
Behold the ravages of age! Just be happy you got to see him at all. I've seen Bob 3 times and I treasure each one. Sure Bob sounds pretty rough these days but so what. I saw him open for The Grateful Dead @ Giants Stadium in 95'. He did an acapella version of Mr. Tambourine man. It was rough as hell but I'm so glad to have seen him do it!! By the way I was also 15.
Bob Dylan is an american icon. You won't get many more chances to see the Sole survivors man! See Bob and feel blessed.
I saw him when he was in Hershey Last week. It was was a really good show, he was awesome. I mean, what else can you say about Dylan?
I don't think I'd actually pay to see him again, these days... I'd rather go see Old Crow or someone like that. Close enough to dylan stuff, with a rootsier twist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Crow_Medicine_Show
Ehh. Dylan's shows nowadays are always a piece of shit. Don't get me wrong, I love the man and been a huge source of inspiration to me in my life, but goddamn. His voice is shot to hell and he's never really given any kind of stage performance, physically. I saw him last November, expecting exactly what I just said, and I got what I expected. It's good to see him just to say you did. He's become a big novelty item. And I don't think he really cares.
oh bob, bob dylan is old, dear. and i know what you mean because i saw him in November of 06... yeah, he sounds rough, like a dying giraffe! but he's dylan and he's f*cking amazing!
Bob has been rehearsing at the Bardavon in Poughkeepsie recently. Actually, he's been using it the past year or 2. Wish I could get in to watch. It's only about 3-4 miles from me.
