how likely is it to get pregnant a few months after having a baby?

well my son is a little over 2 months old, and I breastfed him exclusively for the first month. (if that makes a difference?)

I've been having sex for the last 6 weeks or so, haven't gotten my period yet, but I started taking bc pills again last week. all the times we had sex he pulled out. we didn't use condoms. probably stupid i know...

so I was just wondering how likely it would be for me to be pregnant again? I've just been feeling wierd lately, but it could be my body getting used to the pills again. or just me getting over my last pregnancy. but I just can't get the thought out of my head that I could possibly be pregnant again.

and just out of curiosity, how dangerous would it be to have another baby so soon? I had a c-section and my dr advised me to wait at least a year before having another pregnancy. would it be really risky? or is that just something they throw out there to be safe?

I certainly wasn't planning on getting pregnant again anytime soon, and I hope that I'm not but I just can't stop worrying about it.

I was pregnant with my second child very soon after. I was just breastfeeding as well. It is very possible. They were born about a year and 2 weeks apart. So I believe that means I was pregnant again when my oldest was 3 months old? ekk.

Hmmm, well even after I had stopped breastfeeding, it took me quite some time to get back on track as far as my cycles went. I didn't get a period for months upon months afterwards. Let me tell you, I bought a lot of pregnancy tests during that time! [IMG]

I'd take a test, or see your OB/GYN or midwife for a blood draw if you're worried. I know I would, no sense driving yourself crazy with worry! I was known to make runs to the grocery store (open 24 hours) at 4:00 AM to buy tests because I would toss and turn all night worrying that I was pregnant again so soon! [IMG]

you can get pregnant again immediatly after. I knew one who got pregnant one month after the first pregnancy, adn no she wasnt planning it nor wanted it, but there it was.. she has been more carefull the following times..
BTW i think your man should have been more carefull.. I mean he had 9 months carefree, he could at least have done something like condom..
and as you know "taking it out last minute" is no prevention.. a few drops equal about 100 to 400 spermatozoids.. and he cant control dreeping a few..
So that was very unthougthfull of him.
As other says get a pregnancy test. Buy severals so you have them, should you be in doubt again.

i hope for you you are not, or it will eman oyu got a new baby when the actual one will be 10-11 months, and still breastfeeting him..!!
    that will be draining!

Good luck and I hope you are not.
    Tell daddy to care more!

Breastfeeding exclusively is about 98-99% accurate birth control for the first four months... however I can't find it right now, but I think I've read that going on birth control can screw that up somehow... like your body is already taking care of that and then you put birth control in your system and instead of being extra protection it makes those hormones scatter and go towards something else rather than ensuring the health of your baby with the natural child spacing thing, however like I said I can't find that information in my books, but I will keep looking.

Normally it would take a while for your cycle to get back on track and you might have one and then not have one again for a couple months and it may be irregular at first, but I'm not really sure how adding birth control pills coincide with those post-pregnancy hormones in that aspect. I will see what I can find.
