I went running barefoot the other day and I have to say it was much easier and not hard on the feet at all. I did wind sprints after a 20 minute jog and had no problems, I did have sore ank;es the next day but I'm sure thats from not having ankle support when running for the first time in my life.

Running, like long-distance hiking, exercises an entirely different muscle set when barefoot as opposed to shod. Make sure to take the time to warm up and concentrate on stretching those muscles you found were sore the last time.

Take your time to properly condition and don't overdue it and maybe with enough training you'll be the next Zola Budd ;)

when I run I run on the ball of my foot not heel to toe. at first I had mild pain in the ankles and calves but now I think it has helped strengthen my ankles

My family teases me for proper gait.

They know nothing. They all go heel - toe...

Well, not my dad because he went barefoot when he was a kid.
