I noticed that The Allman Brothers Band (ABB) has not been mentioned. This is an outstanding Southern rock band. The old line up with brothers Duane and Barry, both deceased or the new line up with brother Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes. Also Allen Woody ( Gov. Mule) may he RIP played bass for a few years.
they made a few classics:dreams,Whipping post,Mellisa,In memory of elizabeth reed and 'live at fillmore east' is a great live album.
So, many more. Ain't Wasting No More Time, Statesboro Blues, Mt. Jam, Don't Keep Me Wondering, Midnight Rider, No One Left To Run With.
The band started with duane and greg allman. Greg Allman is still alive and with the band. The band currently has a great line up of all-star musicians - definetly worth seeing.
The Allman's are definitely one of my 'every-so-often' bands... It's great to listen to them every now and then for some of that southern-fried, blues/rock jamming!
Live at Filmore East must and should be considered one of the best live albums out there. Duane on Statesboro Blue !
some beiutiful, real awesome music, by them. Trouble No mOre, One Way Out, Jessica, I could go on and on. Has anyone listened to all thirty minutes of Mountain Jam off "Eat a Peach" I tried it, it was unbeleivable. hey Jim, nice sig pic btw
Frequently. It's weird, instead of putting it all on one disk, it's split up between the two disks of eat a peach, to almost FORCE the person with the record to listen to it by flipping the record instead of just discarding the disk with all 30 minutes on it.
I love the Allmann brothers... I Just met someone who used to know Greg Allmann... i only have Eat a Peach and Greatest hits... I love them!
