    Hello Everyone!
Today was a day of fun and discovery! I just realised I have a full wood shop at my disposal, and I could make wooden beads. (took me long enough to figure out). So today me and the little sis' got some wooden dowling and hacked them into little short pieces varying from half a cm to 3 and even 4 cm. I drilled out the centers, then discovered our grandmother who is an avid tole (sp?) painter and raided her paint collection. We painted up a few just for kicks to see what they would look like, we did polka dots, stripes, a flower, a ying-yang symbol, and a butterfly i think. Tommorow morning im going to go back to the shop and varnish the bloody piss out of them so they are all shiney(sp?) and hair ready! Im also thinking about doing up a few more tomorrow, and maybe just staining them and varnishing; pretty pretty!

I discovered a little bit about bead making today, and I thought I might share what I've learned! First off when working with wood, and cutting dowls or whatever it is your using, be very careful to prevent chip out, which is a huge bitch! I also discovered that beads need some way to be held in your hair, and not wanting them stuck there permanently with glue and junk, so after some careful experimentation ive come up with a solution. Say your target dread is the size of a regular bic pen, make the center of the bead half that size or less. This way when you go to slide the bead on your really going to have to mash that hair into the bead and drag it to the desired location. This way the bead wont slide or move to much and can be removed when desired. Ive found this is the best all natural no extra products solution to the problem, and it means you can take them out when you wash your dreadelles and move them to a new dread as desired.

Now I was wondering if anyone might want a custom painted beadie? Ill put up some pics soon of the finished results which I think are pretty nice personally! Im thinking about charging like (canadian funds) 5 bucks for a plain painted or all one stain beadie and 10 bucks for a custom design beadie and like 3 bucks for a plain beadie that you can paint yourself. Ill be cool and pay shipping cause I can send it in an envelope. I dont want to use any store website cause thats just retarded, I trust people and people should be able to trust me. Pictures should be up tommorow! Much love people!
