    well procratinations pushing this back....
basically my question is ' if i jus keep taking 1g Amoxicillin at a time like 2x a day 3x a day, is it helping my infection? Is there anyway this would be considered 'unhealthy'

ive had a persistant fever for several days, yesterday it got kinda high, no way to tell but i was cold as fuck and tired all day, my stomach has felt real f*cked up too maybe that jus from the antibiotics... im i putting myself at risk by holding this off? im not gonna wait too long.

i found a thread on bluelight.ru about the substance i was injected, turns out (so they said) that this solution had no 'unsafe' particles/substances to shoot in it. they said even if you missed, the highly soluable solution would most likely absorb without incident... well they were wrong (obviously)

see if this link works, its where im getting most my inormation

    The link didn’t work.

That said, it would be helpful to know what the substance was that you injected. Though the infection is more likely caused by less than standard injection procedure. Was the needle sterile (as in never used/vac sealed) and did you disinfect the injection site with alcohol? Also did you miss the vein?

As for the amox, 1g is a rather high dose. The standard dose is 500mg and the highest available is 875mg. Amox acts not by killing bacteria, but by preventing them from multiplying and disrupting the barrier the bacteria form to protect themselves from your immune system, that way your immune system can take care of the infection in its own way. That’s why you have a fever; your body is attempting to kill it by taking away the ideal growth condition (normal temp). Chances are the bacteria causing the infection are resistant to the effects of amox. Amox is usually used to treat infections of the middle ear, tonsils, throat, larynx (laryngitis), bronchi, lungs, urinary tract, and in some case skin infections. But it isn’t used so much for skin infections these days. You should stop taking it, as it’s obviously not effective and you’re contributing to the development of anti-biotic resistant pathogens by taking the medication unnecessarily (since it’s not effective against the target pathogen). The best treatment would be cephalexin 500 mg three times a day for 5 days, that’s the standard treatment for injection site infections. You will also need to have the site drained as you mentioned. It sounds like it has progressed too far for anti-biotics alone to treat it. And yes you are putting yourself at risk by not obtaining treatment, especially if the infection has proceeded to the point of an abscess and a fever lasting several days. The infection sounds very serious and will soon spread into the blood if it hasnt already. Blood infections are difficult to treat and life-threatening. Injection site infections can become gangrenous if left untreated leading to the loss of the limb (see requiem for a dream). You need to seek medical attention with an urgency of needs to be done yesterday. Most cities have at least one free clinic for underprivileged individuals without insurance.

    Where is this abscess?

I had one in my jaw after getting my wisom teeth pulled... my cheek looked like I had a tennis ball stuck in it, thats how big it was... One guy even asked me if I had a tumor!

Mine got pretty bad too, I was getting a fever and my mouth was in some intense pain. I went to an endontist and they had to cut away the gums in the back of my mouth and drill down into the abcess to drain it and clean it - turns out it was from food getting in my gums after wisdom teeth surgery, and the gums healing over the food. It was hella nasty too, the machine that suctions the blood from your mouth was full of chunks of gum, blood, puss, and food particles... mad me gag during the operation.

Then they stuck some type of fake-gums in the back of my mouth, and give me some stitches. I went back a few days later and got the fake gums taken out, and the sutures dissolved and worked themselves out over time, and I was also on Amox.

Good luck with it, I feel your pain man!
