More death penaltys....

Dont you think that the rapist so rape little kids and women should get automatic death penalty? Instead of all that trial stuff and they get bogus amount of years in jail? I mean hey, its gonna go down once all these freaks see that you get death. Not for anyone just for rapists, murders (ones who killed their whole family or loved one) and eeven molestors. ylou see these gys in jail, they get food, tv, money, and even drugs i mean its pathetic! I read in the magazine that this PRIEST raped little girls and they wanted a death penalty but theyre saying 5 years in jail! its so lame and im disappointed!

 

I've seen estimates that upwards of 10% of people convicted in America are innocent.

 

and killing them won't make their wrongs any more right. the death penalty, eye for an eye bullshit, is archaic and inhumane.
and spooner's right. the "justice" system is anything BUT just.
guidance and rehabilitation is the only way to prevent future crimes.

a)There is no conclusive evidence that the death penalty acts as a deterrent towards crime.
b)Executions, because of the inscreased number of appeals/court room time/etc actually cost the United States more than a lifelong sentence.
c)If somebody innocent is executed, there is no way to end or reverse a sentence if the conviction is later reversed.

For these reasons, I'm against it. I don't really care that much about rapists and murderers dying, however.

 

Im not talking about rapists or murders dying, im talking abuot the people who got caused by it, for the innocent part, yes make sure its true that they did it, im not saying hang em when yu get the chance, find out if their guilty then do the death. its simple, why do they think jail changes people? it doesnt! to some it does but they still do it, i really wish someone would agree with me here

 

God gave everyone a life. Why do some assume they have the right to take it away from anyone? I'm not a strict follower of any religion, but "Thou shall not kill" is pretty clear to me. No exceptions.

I'm not in favor of the death penalty though, I don't think it accomplishes anything.

I'm totally against the death penalty for ANY crime. What should be instituted is a policy of Rehabilitation and NOT incarceration!

Spending 20 years in a tiny room and eating 3 shitty meals a day isn't going to fix anybody. The system is fucked up, which makes the people who buy into it fucked up. So fix the system and you can help fix the people

 

If society could guarrantee that no one was falsely accused or convicted, it would be something to consider. But as long as the system is faulty, there is no question that killing someone to try and prevent future murders/crimes doesn't work. Never has.

For you Christian god lovers and promoters only he should have that power.

 

The reason why the death penalty and jail doesn't work is because it is not immediate. People know that if they commit a crime and get sent to jail or get the death penalty they will live out most of their life and get appeals and such. Of punishment of any kind to work it has to sever and immediate. Sitting in jail is not a severe punishment for most people. A girl that I went to school with is on death row. She killed her husband, she stabbed him 32 times. She will live a long life behind bars while her children suffer for not have their dad and not having her. Murder, rape and most personal crimes hurt more that just the victim. The whole family is effected.

 

Rehad doesn't fix most violent criminals.

 

That's just plain bullshit. How many people have been accused by vindictive people only to find they weren't guilty. Make the penalty immediate and no one has any recourse to true justice.

Perhaps someone should try to find out what pushed a young mother to committ such a heineous crime. Perhaps if her husband had been controlled she wouldn't be in prison?

 

She tried to poison the man first to make it look like a heart attack and when he didn't die from that she got frustrated and stabbed him. She wanted the insurance money.
