This kid is just a badass: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19312164/ "Louisiana teenager grabs gun to foil carjacking" The attempted carjacker's weapon was probably not registered. Criminals will be criminals and criminals who use guns will acquire said guns. We as a concerned nation should teach our kids how to properly defend themselves, quite possibly with mandatory military service.
That kid is a badass. He would have been an idiot if the bullet that fired would have hit his mom... Does this mean that there's a very thin line between badass and idiot? That is up to you, dear viewers! We will return after this commercial break and word from our sponsors... Don't go away! Sponser: Buy crack cocaine, it's guaranteed to give you a gay-stache!
The guys got balls thats for sure. The article doesn't say whether or not the jacker was on the same side of the vehicle as the mother or not, but the way I see it the son had to reach around his mother and grab the gun. I'm familiar with all sorts of weapons, and the only way I can see this happening is if he is ultra sharp and reacted when the jacker looked away for a second. Very ballsy....but could have gone bad in a second. I'm 50/50 on this one, but individual reactions to a tense assed situation like that vary wildly. I could even see BraveSir doing the same if the situation demanded it. On a lighter note, I'm hoping they caught the 4 regular roast beefs for 5 bucks deal at the Arby's. It's the shit. Extra 'horsey' sauce oh yeah!
The article also doesn't mention whehter or not the kid got any shit for shooting another person... Not that I'm routing for car jumpers, but eh... I've seen this hipocracy played out differently all the same. He is a minor, and did act in self defense, but if his proposed "method" is as fast as his hands, then could he not had to shoot the guy? I've seen the authority crack down on even more questionable "rescues" than that, with even younger "heros" being "corrected" for thier deeds. I require more info for a better stated reply.
It would have been a lot smarter to just give the guy the money and the car. Sure, it worked out this time, but it's not worth risking your or your mother's life. The car is just a car.
The kid is being called a hero by local law enforcement..... self-defense apparently includes repeatedly shooting a carjacker rock on, America :H
You never know, he may have saved lives by preventing this car jacker from killing somebody in the future.
?? As opposed to had the jacker apprehended and "corrected" in a sense still darring to look at it that way. There was no need for wreckless violence begotten from will illfull soal. And as for future criminal detturence, This isn't minority report, I'd know, I'm not in a liquid tank right now hooked up to monitor sensors and other such gadgets.
If there is ever mandatory military service I will pimp slap the highest ranking officer I can find in the area and then pwn as many more people as I can until I'm shot.
