Tell me more about it Jaga. GG Allin was bound to happen, I mean someone needs to be out there taking rock and roll far beyond the edge (not musically but performance wise) when corporate assimilation of almost all genres has made that such a difficult thing to do.

I only wonder why there aren't more GG Allins in the industry today.

The show was a morbid festival of what drunkeness and drugs can do for a musician. As I remember he claimed that he was going to commit suicide on stage on Holloween or some shit like that. If you have specific questions I'll answer them. Keep in mind; describing him is rather difficult. lol

Specifically, what kind of vibe did you pick up from the guy? Was he clearly just a psychologically damaged, drug wracked guy, or was he calculating and self aware and just doing an incredibly convincing act for the attention. I've read people who've proposed either and I've personally seen it as both. I mean think about how formulaic it became, with him always shoving something in his ass and shitting it out. I'm sure he tried a few others "stunts" and stuck with the ones that were met with the biggest reaction.

GG Allin was an entertainer after all. I think he needed attention and would calculate his stage show accordingly, to shock and frighten.

But people who knew him said he could be a perfectly friendly guy who'd suddenly go off on someone without any provocation. He was genuinely damaged I think.

Although I haven't researched GG to a large degree-- it doesn't take much to call him a chauvenistic asshole. I have very little respect for those that would view me simply as a sex object, nothing more.
I don't care how many shirts you have of him, I don't see what makes his such an icon (besides of course, his lewd manner.
