there's alot of education being presented on this besides the music which is also what this is about

its rather superficial you don't embrace the concept cuz the music you don't like

i do believe though there is room for healthy skepticism, for instance, how many barrels of oil in a year does it take to keep al gore's hair back?

that's handy info. dave's already fixed out ac to be more efficient. some of that stuff is so neato dave's kicking his own ass for missing yussef (cat stevens) because he's a HUGE fan. but so many of the bands are such garbage to us that we just couldn't keep sitting through it.

Yusef (Cat Stevens) sang Wild World & Peace Train, plus another song by someone else.

LOL! I wasn't for it until I heard Madonna was for it! ;)

She put on a GREAT show, who the fuck knew Madonna was such a HOT guitar player, in fact I hereby nominate her for HOTTEST female guitarist. Damn she was FANTASTIC. She even did Ray of Light and strutted around the stage, like some rock god! How old is she?

They flew alot of them in my plane and private aeroplane
Most of the people up there couldnt give a shit about global warming, they just want it because they are skint and need to try and recapture their fame!!

to be on topic, i want to say i never actually heard about this event until it was on, i heard about it maybe a couple days in advance but i hardly heard about it at all
if this event is supposed to help to inform people, and help to get change in the climate control crisis, shouldn't it have been more publicized?...is 4 days really enough to get people moving to action?...maybe i was living under a rock...

that in itself seems bullshit to me, but also like people have already said in this thread the performers didn't help the global warming issue by being flown by private jets and the amount of electricity pumped into the amps and screens isn't too great for the environment i'm sure
al gore himself flies in his own jet
    http://www.slate.com/id/2142319/

and the fact that 15 million users came online to view this event doesn't really register to me quite yet
    http://liveearth.msn.com/about

doesn't it kinda click into peoples minds that all that energy used to power up computers and televisions to watch this event doesn't help anything
people buy their hybrid cars and assume that they're helping the earth, but hybrids in themselves are bullshit, what happens to all those batteries from hybrid cars once the battery is dead? does anyone think about that, or are they too busy spending their tax breaks?...

now skip, alot of what you have said in this thread has angered me slightly, i'm sure that everything i have said is purely opinion based and will no doubt anger you slightly as well, but why must you belittle us and tell us that we are 'trolling' by stating our opinions?
and i'm sure because brave sir rubin is a friend of mine this will no doubt be interpreted as siding with him solely based on that friendship

i myself took place in live 8, i was there, i signed the petitions, i saw them perform live, it was incredable..i also was involved in the only environmental club at my high school, started in the first place by friends of mine, my family has been eco-friendly all my life..i've been on this band wagon for years

what is my point exactly... i suppose my point is that i would like to know what the fuck is going through peoples heads, just because a bunch of half assed celebrities decide to "help save the planet" in their own hypocritical way we're all supposed to bend over?

it just doesn't make sense to me, and i just don't understand how come all throughout history, and up until the day i die i will be silenced by fuckwits with a little bit more power than me

authority means nothing unless you can use it properly

you yourself used the word 'misinformation'...how exactly do you define this word skip? because in all honesty how can anyone, yourself and myself included, know truly and rightfully that what they are receiving is true information instead of misinformation?

honestly my mother taught me right, girls like myself should just dumb ourselves down
too often it's easier to play the sheep

that's why we have to listen to the music of authentic earth healers like jon bon jovi who walked to giants stadium from his home in new jersey

also, bullshit is good when its composted for the garden although cowpies are the best
