why is it that everyone these days seam to be anti-drug. Honestly if use them responsably they really don't hurt anyone. Also earlyer civilizations had a positive view on drugs, egyptians, aztecs, and (imperial)chinese just to name a few. So why all the anti-drug idealism in the mondern world?

The British forced the Chinese to import British-Indian opium against their will. The opium wars ensued, the British obviously won, and then a bunch of Chinese people became addicted to opium. This more exemplifies how they used drugs and not how they were pro-drug, but China is a huge place; I'm sure there were lots of people who were pro-opium or pro-other-drugs. Nearby, in Cambodia, the people ate Psilocybe mushrooms as part of their religion or something (I don't know very much about this though). Anyway, not to refute your point since I agree with it, but I think more people have lightened up their views towards drugs, namely pot, lately. I think that as you get older and sort of "prove yourself," that some people are willing to not be so close minded, but there are always many who will be. Ronald Reagan is dead, and I don't think that the war on drugs charade can last much longer. Even a lot of Republicans don't give a shit about pot these days.

^thanks for the info, yeah the chineses were I think the first people to use cannabis as a medicine, Im not sure if they used it to get high thou. I think many people are anti drug because us european/american people have not had a history of drug use, alchahol sure but anything else would be associated with witchcraft. Skipping to the times of today there is rampant abuse of drugs which the media and the government exagerates and shows off the bad things drugs can do, many people are put off without realising the possible benefits drugs have. Also sociotey today is much more materialistic and so basicaly we dont hold drugs as being a religious gift or whatever like they were in the olden days.
i dont really care how people view drugs...if thats there opinion (may not be such a well educated one) then they can have it...it aint gunna stop me wanting to do it...x x x
probably because the only portrayal of drug users shown in the media is one of the violent, moronic junkie who is a terrible father and stuff....just like how the white media shows all minorities as being criminals and uneducated.....its just the way it is...its pretty sad.
I wouldn't say "white media" cause white is a racesit term that throws germans, irish, scotts, english, french, and other races into one group baised on there color. It is politcaly inccorect to say white as it is to say black. Oh and it is the african, african-american, reporters that lay into the minorities more than the other reporters that i have seen on tv....idk i just hate people looking down on people cause they are white and as if it's there fault there are more "white" than other groups. Although if people broke it down correctaly than the numbers would be different. It's as wrong as calling people black.
