Can't that network run something other than prison stories? They were on a child predator thing non-stop for a few months before that.

You have to forgive all of that in exchange for the kickassery of Keith Olbermann.

They just do that on like the fourth of july and holidays because they know that no is really watching so they run pre-taped stuff. It is a little weird that those are what they chose, but they are still by far the best cable news channel. Keith Olberman is THE man!

It's been going a couple months. Before that, it was months of the child predator thing.

These networks become obsessed with a topic and just won't quit. I thought we'd never hear the end of the Scot Peterson thing. That one must have gone on a year or two.

MSNBC used to have more of the mild-mannered people on their shows, such as Lester Holt. Guess they didn't do all that well in the ratings. They now prefer to put in flashy personalities covering tabloid topics.

CNN recently did away with their 24-hour headline format, something they had since their inception in the early 80s. Now the evening and overnight are tabloid stories.

I like trashy true crime television (you can just feel the cavities forming in your mind), so MSNBC is allright with me.
It does piss me off sometimes whenever they describe those 'to catch a predator' guys as pedophiles. they (most of the time) aren't. a pedophile is attracted to children pre-puberty, while ephebephiles (sp?) are attracted to post-pubescent but still under the age of consent children.

MSNBC should change its name to The Prison Channel. :)

They did do a good doc on car thieves tonight.

MSNBC started out as an alternative to CNN after CNN became totally obsessed with the OJ thing. Ironically, they've gone down the same road as CNN.

All major news networks = mental illness.

I can't believe that Olbermann hasn't been canned. :D He's such a badass. It's so great to see one real journalist still on the air.

While I'm no big Michael Moore fan, I saw his attack on Wolf Blitzer and CNN, and it was fantastic. :D Recommended YouTube viewing!

Funny thing is Olbermann started out with CNN really briefly in the 80's.

Well, I don't know about that. We've gone through Memorial Day, 4th of July, and now Labor Day and they're still running all those prison stories. Oh well. :)

There is a difference between news and entertainment. You shouldn't confuse the two.

There's a great line from a song by The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy.

'Television, the drug of the nation,
    Breeding ignorance and feeding radiation.'

Switch it off and have a look outside.

Yes. I don't need the TV to see all the violence. I just open my drapes at night. :)

Some of it does have a silly appeal about it. Some of those guys they catch are quite stupid and gullible.
