if u had control of the government, complete control, what would you do to lower the crime and gang rates?

personaly i would legalize pot and a few other drugs would become decriminalized (mainly acid and shrooms and the like) but i would make it so that say if u were pulled over and fucked up it would be illegal like drunk driving.

as for lower gang violence and crime i would wage a war on poverty and work on making basic needs affordable for everyone.

I would make it so everyone has to take LSD once in their life.

Make fully automatic weapons readily available for the people. And lets see.. establish commercially grown hydroponic weed and mushrooms. Oh yeah.. the acid too... :D

Wow, that's quite the task. You'd have to create more jobs and battle inflation. I'd make all drugs legal, but require all of them, including alchohol, to be sold only with a liscense. You have to EARN the right to take substances that alter your conciousness. The legality of drugs would lower crime, allow the government to tax the substance, and create jobs. I would socialize a lot of industries. But there is no magical quick fix.

I would completely legalize marijuana, shrooms, peyote, etc., and treat drug abuse as not a criminal problem, but a medical problem. Cocaine, heroin, LSD, etc., would be legal, but require a permit that you are healthy enough from a doctor.

I would make it so you needed an IQ of 130 or higher to use any drugs, the more intense the drug, the higher IQ needed. Alchol whould require an IQ of 110, and it would be very limited to how much you can get at a time. You would be tested for your BA level, and anything over .08 (the driving limit) you would be cut off.

^A person with a high IQ isnt always going to be happy and healthy, many intellengent people are depressed and weired, if anything dumber people are generaly more happy.
I would make pot legal, but if you straight out make acid and shrooms legal your going to get a shit load of drug abuse, it will need strict rules to controll it- like you can only buy one tab of acid per month, or 1/8 of shrooms per month, and I like sunshinechilds idea of getting a certificate of health from a doctor.

First, I'd legalize weed. About five seconds later, I'd introduce a new tax on weed. I would then use half of the revenue from that tax to create centers where people with legitimate addictions could get their fix without turning to dealers. Then I'd use the other half to fund rehab centers. And NO, I would not legalize any hallucinogens that aren't already legal. The majority of people are too stupid to use them intelligently. If you wanna trip that bad you're just gonna have to break the law to do it in my country. It's not like that bothers any of us too much.

first of all, stop the drug war. i think not allowing people to do drugs based on their IQ is a bad idea. not only does IQ only test if you have book smarts but what difference would it make if a dumb person was doing drugs rather than a smart one. having to get approval from a doctor to use drugs is a good idea. as for stopping gang violence we would need to figure out a way to eliminate poverty so everyone would have an equal opportunity to live well. How to do that? i have no idea. but a national health care system would be a good start.

If I was in control of the government we would not be fighting in a war that we were pulled into because of a lie. We would have to begin with fixing things our current government majorly screwed up. The war, the global economy, the environment, as well as our society seem like good places to begin with. Perhaps when we send aid to other nations, we will send the aid in the form of help rather in the form of loans for weaponry. Perhaps the hungry may be fed and people may be able to find incentives with help getting off the streets. Perhaps justice may be just, and violent crime may become a greater priority then things like simple possession. Perhaps those who have wronged society may come to justice. At the same time may their punishments be more focused on rehabilitation and education instead of incarceration.

While this all sounds nice, unfortunately I am just a kid with a wish; I am not a politician.

Honestly, that's the equivalent of having laws so people aren't allowed to do drugs.

i think the permit things is pretty interesting but limiting the amount of lsd and shrooms i would disagree with. how about set up shops were u can go and trip under proffesional supervision? these shops could have gardens or just crazy ass trippy rooms. give a bit of a variety for people to find theirself while still being comfortable because they now if something goes wrong help is close by
