I recently heard that Paul McCartney has fired touring workers for eating hamburgers!? The world might be suffering from ecological problems, but is this the path we really want to go down? Not all of us are fortunate enough to live in the tropics, run around naked, and be vegetarians. Some us who live in the colder climates need meat to keep our body heat up. I suppose Mr. McCartney would fire an Eskimo for being an Eskimo? Paul never was my favorite Beatle, this is just further justification.
I mean its a personal thing...I dont want to start a fight about vegetariansim... I think Sir Paul MacCartney is so cheesy, but i mean its his tour. I guess he can do what he wants.
Paul is my favorite Beatle but he's nothing special, the others just suck crap I wonder what would happen if someone got fired for being a vegetarian...
I dont rub it in peoples faces that i dont eat meat, so i dunno if anyone would notcie...but I really dont know if its true that he would fire being for eating meat. It seems to me like we have a myth in the making here.
I heard it on the radio last week. I entered Paul McCartney fires help for eating meat, on a search engine and I got several hits. One of them was a Ted Nugent column at wacotrib.com
I'm sure if The guy was in a place where he needed meat he wouldn't fire him. I wouldn't fire the guy, but I don't think it's wrong, unless the guy didn't have another job and really needed money
why would you automatically assume he had multiple jobs and I know you are young and may not have realized it, but most people don't work if they don't need money stop trying to defend him, McCartney is a discriminating asshole, case closed.
Is Paul a nut? Well yes and no. Does he have the right to fire meat eaters? Hey it's a free universe. Is Ted Nugent a jerk? Yes. Do you have to eat meat if you live in a part of the country that gets cold in the winter? No. The crazylegged one hath spoken.
Assuming this is a true story, I feel that Paul McCartney should not have fired his workers for eating meat. You cannot force someone to believe in what you believe, and that is just the way it is. The more people try to control others, the more they will want to rebel and keep doing what they are doing. So, although I am also one who does not consume meat or animal by-products, I try to encourage others rather than force.
No, he had no right to fire someone from his tour because he ate a hamburger. Don't know if he really did that but it surely wouldn't be to his credit if he did.
Wow, Paul McCartney just lost my respect entirely. What a discriminating asshole - I mean, if I owned a business and was (say) a vegan (I'm not by the way) I would have no more right to fire someone for eating a hamburger than I would for being gay. Discrimination is discrimination no matter if the person discriminated against goes against some people's opinions or not. Personally I think that roadie should sue for unfair dismissal. Unless he was a volunteer, in which case he should just tell the world what a fucking asshole McCartney is.
I don't know what the circumstance was, but I believe that if there was an agreement to not eat meat on the tour, then sneaking hamburgers was not very cool. Paul wanted to control the vibes of his tour, and was paying people to adhere to the guidelines. It is like I don't mind if you and the world eats meat, but I don't want it cooked in my kitchen or home. Pauls tour scene could be considered his home scene, and he wanted a vegeterian vibe. I don't see what is so wrong or narrow minded about that. The burgers were probably bought from some fast food chain that had meat from cows who were inhumanely treated or something too, which some people feel very strongly about. We all have our idiosyncrasies, and Paul has his. If he likes strict vegies around him on his tour , then I say give him what he wants.
no. not here anyways you can fire people for anything you don't like about them except for something that is viewed as something they can not help, including religious and moral beliefs
