We don't know if (any deity here) exists.
We don't know that (any deity here) doesn't exist.

We will most likely never know what did or didn't create the universe or what drives the cells in our body to work hard just for us to live....

Theologists take a MASSIVE leap of faith to try to justify their beliefs.
Atheists take ALMOST NO leap of faith to justify their beliefs (however they can still never disprove it)

A lot of People think Agnosticism is just a cheap "Cop Out" but I really think it's the only resonable thing we can actually believe.

It is reasonable if you dont care to search for yourself.
Because I promise you, if you were to REALLY do some mediation
and search yourself, you can feel God.
And who is to say that ones perception is wrong, simply because
it doesnt match their own perception?
Im not out to say God is real to you or not real to you, but
I will always know what I have felt in my search for God, and to me
at least, it is very real :)

true you can feel a connection to something so what, you need an outside refference to apply that feeling to the term god, without the concept, theres just the sence of awe at all that is..the beauty of the universe.. but add the abstract concept of god, wether its a blue dude or bearded old dude or a giant spaghetti monster it doesnt matter your just applying an abstract concept to thaty feeling, claiming you "feel god" yet every religios person from every religion "feels god" so which god are they feeling? couldnt it be just the wonder and awe at all of creation they feel? then books & ppl tell them ahh this is gods work, everythinmg comes from god so that feeling must be of god as well?
agnostisism does make perfect sence because only a fool would ever claim to know the truth of god or the devine, its unknowable , the ultimate question with no answer you can seek an answer & find confort in any number of ez answers (odviosly theyre all not right so why assume any are?) or you can accept all as is, without need for answers beyond that sence of wonder & be truly happy just knowing whatever is is, whatever will be will be & it doesnt matter 1 bit what name u slap on god, in fact namimg him may be the biggest blasphemy of all, when the truth is unknowable only sin is to claim to know the truth

Shall I say Amen? Or Aum :)
So True Eagle, When I say God the Father, I am implying
the undescribable existance that Dreamed this Cosmic Dream
    of vibration and wonder.
How can we describe that which we can not perceive?

    Dead on Soaring Eagle.

I never quite understood why the human race can't just be happy and pleased with the CREATION itself, and just be content to believe.. Whatever (if anything) created this beautiful thing we call the universe, I hope it understands my gratitude for it based on how much I appreciate my life and the world around me. And I hope it has the mind to channel my love and gratitude towards the Universe and the Planet and knows that I am apprecitating what I can see feel, see, touch and love. And if He, She or Spagetti Monster created it, well I really appreciate it and will continue to Love and Appreciate what I can see and be apart of.

Yes its sad that some people blindly believe what they are told
and preach as if they themselves are perfect but do not follow
    what they say.
But, cant we be happy with creation itself, and still study it?

when u seek an answer to an unanswerable question, the question itself is the answer

Only a Few Funky Cats from Philly could solve the age old question of "Is there a God?" in a few quick posts.

    Good work gentlemen!

I Value Everyone's Opinions, Ideals, Beliefs, And Find Truth In Many Of The Statements Made Here. Personally, I Believe In God, Feel God, Talk To God, And Know That I Am A Part Of God~We All Are. My Spiritual Path In This Lyfe Has Lead Me To My Belief In Him, Her, The Spaghetti Monster, Whatever, And My Heart Has Found A Peace That I Never Had Before.

humans have always wanted an answer to that answerless question; 'where did we come from?' in seeking the answer, the ancients did the best they could by creating a concept they could relate to, but their view was limited by their range of knowledge, and so the concept of a diety was the best thay could imagine. since then, people have pondered and argued endlessly as to the nature of that diety and it's gender, intentions and general demeanor.
all we know for certain, at this point, is that there IS a 'Creative Principle' that causes life. It is much like the idea of electricity or magnetism.
people crave a father-figure, so the concept of an entity that created all and watches over his creation is very common amongst the masses, still, but it is an out-dated and obsolete concept, in the light of our present state of evolution.
The Creative Principle exists, but it is not an entity or a diety, so there is no need to take what happens to you in life as personal.

well, i agree for the most part, but i try to resist the habit
of calling it 'god.' there is so much historical and cultural
baggage associated with that name that it is difficult
to use without forming some kind of image in the mind,
which usually ends up being humanoid, of course.

if there wasn't a desire in us for something more, a desire to strive for something greater, what would be the point in being here? agnosticism is the most intelligent starting point. this feeling of awe is also a starting point-an awareness that grows when fed our attention. there really is no point in attempting to place "god" in our man-made world of labels and concepts, though this is no reason to drop the search and remain stagnant. if concepts fail, we must try different routes. this is not a subject that can be solved, categorized and filed away. this is why we are here.

I believe agnosticism is a cop out of sorts. When someone claims that both sides of the argument are just as logical a choice as the other, they are not weighing the logical scale.

Try and tell me that creationists make exactly as much sense as evolutionists. Go read the “I can prove God…” thread in the atheist forums and tell me the logic behind the God support arguments are just as solid as the Godless arguments.

The logic is NOT BALANCED and therefore the agnostic claim is flawed. Imaginary myths lies and fairy tales of ignorant and biased old religions simply do not hold up against scientific logic and facts! Evolution only has to make slightly more sense than creationism and you should understand what I'm trying to say here.

And don't try and re-define the meaning of God, that is another cop out.

True, blind belief in the simplified tranlation of creationalism in
    Genisis is pretty rediculous.
But, I was a major contributor to the thread in atheist forum you are
mentioning, and my stance is that we are, in essence, vibration, and
that the vibration is an emanation of God's Cosmic Dream.
The God bit you may not agree with, but it can not be denied that
    we are of vibration.
And religious people from India have claimed for thousads of years
that we come from Om, the Sound of Brahman.
So, true, not every view point on God can coincide with science
in an equal balance, but look at this way, if there was an equal
balance in human beings, what would be the point of existing?
Karma, Yin & Yang, the Flow of the Tao, its all the same.
Confrontation enables you to search and rationalize your own opinions.

Btw, how is redefining the "meaning" of God a cop out?
In my opinion, anyone who claims to contain knowledge of the meaning
of God is completley rediculous, and truly a fool.
So in reality, its not even possible to define God.
I dont believe that this is what is being argued here.

When everyone makes up their own definition of what God is, it rather complicates such a debate as the existence of those Gods. The fact that there are so many definitions in itself says a lot about the origin of God, mans imagination.

You can't really have a debate about God without first debating on a definition to debate about or you end up with meaningless loops of nonsense. "God is an all knowing supernatural consciousness". "No, God is just everything". "Oh yeah, I believe in stuff so God does exist"…

We know everything "vibrates" Energy produces a whole broad spectrum of frequencies as well as orbits that create matter. Again, what does this have to do with God? How many ways can you reword the same argument? "Oh yeah, I believe stuff vibrates therefore God exists!". Uh, No, try again.

it seems that what relayer is getting at is that this vibration is a unifying factor. if everything is truly unified, this brings us closer to sensing "god's" presence in everything. what do you think life is, relaxx? what is awareness? what are you?

I've answered those questions in other threads. This is about the validity of the agnostic viewpoint.

Agnosticism is like this guy who just walked out of a store and realized his car was gone. He finds there are two witnesses, the first guy says "Jesus Christ descended from the clouds, placed his hands on your car and proclaimed that God did not want you to drive this car and vanished with the car in a puff of smoke". The other guy goes "That's crazy talk, two teenagers busted your window and peeled off down the street". He even points out the glass on the parking lot and tire marks where they peeled out. Then the first guy says "Jesus put that there because he doesn't want you to know he took it". So the agnostic guy thinks, well I didn't see it with my own eyes and since there are two stories I will remain undecided and neutral until further proof.

Process that information, that's what I'm saying. Each of these things is not like the other, can you tell which one just doesn't belong. The Muppets could reason this one out! Place you bets now! Choose a bloody side.

Creationist claim there are holes in our scientific explanations. Maybe so but creationist claims completely defy logic and are based on imaginary fairytale stories. Me, I'd rather eat a sandwich made of Swiss cheese than imaginary cheese! ! Agnostics I guess, just aren't too hungry.
