So i'm thinking of getting my tongue pierced but i'm kinda afraid of the pain, so can someone tell me how much does it really hurt? (You can use a scale 1 - 10 too, 1- doesn't hut at all, 10 - terrible pain) thanx in advance
I heard it's just slow... Really, we don't know your pain tolerance. So we can't judge. Just get it done. 2-5 seconds of pain ain't that bad. Swelling is only temporary.
I have had my tongue pierced and it is not actually painful, when they stick the needle through your tongue it hurts for like less than a second. When your tongue starts to swell up it wont hurt but your tongue will kinda ache. Hope I helped. Tom
I'm sure it hurts like hell. Ever bite your tongue before? Now think of the pain twice that, so make it a 20.
It's really not that bad. Yes it hurts, but what the hell do you expect. I would say on the pain scale it was about a 6 for me. I think the worst part of it was my tounge being all swollen up for aweek.
ive talked to people who say it was their most painful piercing and poeple who say it didnt hurt at all. i think it helps to relax your tongue when they pierce it.
Quick answer.. 1. Highly regarded as the least painful piercing, however this isnt always the case for some people. It is generally not an overly comfortable piercing to get. Having your tongue stuck out of your mouth and played with for a while isnt actually fun. Main things. Dont compare it to biting your tongue. The nerves (big ones like the lingal nerves and the little ones) in your tongue run close to the outside. Biting your tongue hurts because youre biting on these (not to mention the shock factor). General tongue piercings (through the middle) cross no nerves and just plow through muscle. Easy. Piercings through the side (well not side, but 1/4 way across etc instead of halfway) are a bit worse as theyre close or touching the lingal nerve (however dont believe any paralysis myths). The initial healing stage is annoying, but only really lasts 2-5days on average.
I pierced mine myself with just a pin, and it wasn't that bad. The part that hurt the most for me was widening it so a ring would fit, even though it was only a 12 gauge.
I would never have pierced my tongue, you have two massive veins running down it. I got it done professionally, the needle was roughly the size of a biro pen. Tom
odd.. 14 is regarded as the norm for most things.. lucky.. in NewZealand its hard to find anything bigger than 14ga except at the best of places..
Yeah, I've only seen 14G rods in a couple shops. A lot of people in US have 00G ear piercings and such, I've probably seen more people with 'big' gauges than small lately.
00ga is nothing. 14ga is the normal for your average piercing getting their lip pierced etc here. 16ga is quite common too, but its quite common to see larger than 00ga ears.. not much in the 1.5"+ range though
