I was linked to this page with an interview with Ken Babbs,

When he was asked what legacy he would like younger generations to carry on he answered "love, peace, and happiness extended in practicality to the simple act of helping one another out, being kind and generous."

At first i thought he could have answered something much more poetic and original, but after realizing those were the genuine words of Ken Babbs, i came to the conclusion that he couldn't have said anything more perfect and honest. Although i don't agree with all the ideals of that particular movement and its people, i do believe they paved the road for the generations after them unlike anything or anyone else. It amazes me that a small group of people just like you and me can and have changed the world and the course of history forever.

Drew man, remember you mentioned to me those words you wanted painted on this bus? I definitely want them up there, more so than before. Not that it would have been up to me but i think I’m finally actually seeing what you see through those words. I always knew you were changing lives and freeing people from Babylon and all its surrounding bullshit, but i'm now realizing more than ever that you've truly created a family and we're doing so much all together.

Of course it's obvious you change lives forever but if all together as a group we can change just one more and influence just that one person to follow their heart and stay true to what they believe in, much like Kerouac or Kesey and their gangs have done, we're one step closer in changing the world and on the road to making history.

I don't know if you've ever read anything of Kerouac’s, he's by far my favorite author and has truly been a great and wise teacher, he is and always will be a hero in my eyes and is to many, many others for that matter. He paved the way for innumerable amounts of people who then paved the way for others and who will eventually pave the way for more. Actually i happen to believe you're following in his footsteps in your own wonderful way and standing as tall as Babbs and Kesey, in the sense that you're truly a precious gem and leader like they were. You're changing lives and all together we're leading the world to a better place in time. I can't imagine how much pride you must feel in knowing how deep of a mark you're making in the world and what kind of story you’re going to leave behind. I don't know if people ever thank you for what you do and keep doing but fuck we ought to. It takes balls and so much more dedication than you've probably ever been credited.

Shit i didn't mean for this to be so long i actually just wanted to share that Ken Babbs quote. I guess gratitude just speaks when it needs to. I realized i had to let everyone know how grateful i am to you for allowing me and so many others to be a part of something so damn beautiful.

thank you so much, Ive got a lot done today, I have more to do I just stopped in to clean the crap off my face then om heading back. the woodstove is heavy as hell and hetting it in the door way turned out to be a lot more difficut then I expected but its in and the seats are out. Woo i landed a job working as the local PTA(PetroleumTransfer agent) so when il hope on i should have adecent kickdown

 

grrrrrrrr freakin car broke down when I left the bus .....ended up sleeping on the bus last night....actually I kinda liked it!

got the car started this morning, freakin filter was clogged..is clogged cant get a new one till morning.

petroleoum transfer agent, ? is that a fancy name for a a gas station jay?

I really enjoyed the Tribe Meeting last night...glad we could all get together and chat about stuff....and really glad that this is all coming together nicely and we all seem to be on the same wave thought about how it will go.

ok so I have 3/4 of the sub floor down, and the concrete board down and the woodstove mounted.

not a bad day really, woke up was on my way into work at 4:30 am engine died, had it towed in turned out the engine is completely toast would have cost 4500 for a new one, sold it for parts for 500 and bought a GMC GYPSY, thought the model suited me...its pretty cool has a cheech and chong timy little wheel and the engine really goes....

where Im at there is no power, my personal funds are completely drained at this point,
on saturday depending on if I recieve enough Ill get a power inverter which will allow us to take the dc from the battery and run AC current at house hold 120 or something like that, we can plug shit in, including the pwer tools I need to start the framinga nd built the bunks.

I have 90% of the kitchen, I still need some piping and the bathroom kit, I have a toilet but need a septic tank, Ill hunt those down in the next few weeks,

I found a fairly inexpensive VW westfalia that doesnt run, Im thinking it will be perfest to mount on the roof allowing us more space.

after am inspection on the body Ive found the shell well insulated with pink, so Im going to by 1" styrofoam and set up a latch system so we can put them up and take them down just covering teh windows weher I figutre we will lose most of the heat, I figure aIll cover them with fabric, make them llook cool, homey and shit when there up, though for the most part Im leaving the fabric design up to the tribe, Im not that good with fabrics...well I am Im just ot fond of doing it, Ill shag the roof and shit if I have time, if not Ill put up carpet again on the cieling....which is always a crapy job by yourself. so I may wait for tribe to show up to help me.

Id like to get the hardwood down this weekend, though I dont want to start that till I have the framing done or else Id be wasting hardwood.

talked with some american tribe, there going to allgood in WV told them to meet up with huglife down there,

im having a lot of fun with this bus guys!
I freakin love building buses, Ive gotten pretty damn good at it over the years.

stick with the highway child theme of course, maybe paint the highway child in chilled style lettering

ok so, the sub floor is complete the kitcehn is framed and the stove/oven/fridge are partially installed, the bathroom is framed and two bunks are built.

by the way, i called about the bus they had no idea what i was talking about but they gave me another number, i called, no answer i'm gonna try again tomorrow.

 

its no biggie, this one we have is ou main concern. it would be nice having a spare3, but there is absolutely no rush on that, I mea unless thjey wanted to kick the bus down to us ,
we really cant afford a spare bus ,
maybe in afew montsh when the canadian tribe builds some more.

im having huge stress trying to figure out NM and getting the bus built,
I can do them both,
so I will
ithough I really wish my volkswagon didnt blow when it did, that was a major expense I really could not afford.

I had two days off this week, which sucked,
but Im back at the grind now, just got home, need sleep
