i never liked halo either, like 6months ago i downloaded a pc demo, played for like 30min and stopped. i then replayed red factio and red faction 2, fucking great games- some of the best fps's in my highly under rated oppinion XD
digitall, u tried oblivion? im playing alot of it right now, its quete shit on its won, but i got a bunch of mods to spark it up. whatever you do if you do play it, download and install deadly reflex 3 i think its called, and gorier effects mod. it makes stuff get really bloody and swrods and shit and allows sick decapitations, u can cut wrists, head and split a body in 2. lol i played the game for 30min, got the mods and just punched someone, my fists got bloody (mods) and i was like whoaaaaa... new dimension of gaming hehe, yeh and shivering isles too- cant play yet tho not finished main quest of oblivion.
Operation Flashpoint and Armed Assualt have one of the best game engines ever built. The military even uses it.
Hmm, I'll list the ones that come to mind by genre. RTS - Supreme Commander. It doesn't run that well on my comp, but if you want new games, I assume you have the rig for them (mine is... old). It looks flat out awesome, and is quite amazing. If you want less of a performance hog, I loved Dawn of War. That was just a great game. RPG - Oblivion is amazing. Real hog, but amazing. FPS - online, there's more Half-Life 2 mods being released every day. Offline, I still feel HL2 has never been topped. Its just that amazing. Other - I really recommend you check out some of the steam games. They're reasonably priced, I love the concept of bypassing the brick-and-mortar stores and giving the game companies all the profits, and I truly love the idea of indy games having a platform they can be seen and released on. There's a lot of cool games there.
i really cool game is tom clancys raibow six vegas, its a really realistic tactical shooter with great graphics and a need for inteligence to survive. large variety of weapons and ways of using them. silenced works bet tho O_.
What sort of games do you like, man? At the moment, I'm playing a lot of Command and Conquer 3, Empire Earth 2, and Supreme Commander, all RTSes. If you like that sort of game, C&C3 is probably the easiest to get into, as the other two have a pretty steep learning curve. Supreme Commander's probably the better of the two "brainier" RTS games, but the hardware requirements are pretty high; EE2 is more scaleable. I'm also playing some Battlefield 2142. My friends say the other battlefield games are better first-person shooters, but I still enjoy 2142. The weapons are all well done, the squad based elements are awesome for team play, and there's a ton of vehicles to use. It's like World War 2...if WW2 were fought 200 years later, with hovercraft and giant robots. No real suggestions for you in the RPG department. Outside of World of Warcraft, I don't have much experience. I do have a friend who was really into Guild Wars, which is like MMORPG Lite...there's a lot of skills and such to unlock, but you can only "equip" a few at a time, so it makes for a more balanced game, where it's easier to get up to speed instead of grinding away till 60 (or 70 as it were) before the game really begins. But I'll check out Oblivion, if you say it's good. Anyone else?
