    I bin thinking.

Buddy of mine is a little down. He married his gf of many years, first thing she insisted on was moving out of their house and buying a new one which used to belong to her mom. And then comes the her selling off his stuff behind his back, cause it doesn't fit into HER house and HER idea of decor. Though he's paying for it.

    Tried to warn him.

And I look at these makeover shows and 99.999999999999999999% of the time it's hey there guy, sell all your stuff, get rid of the clothes you like. And we'll make your house over into a woman's paradise.

I'd like to see a makeover show that is more male oriented. Where they go into the house and make HER over to have a D cup and bleach blonde hair and lipo to look more like Barb Wire, sell off her clothes and have the local strippers teach her makeup and clothing technique complete with tossing of her wardrobe and a brand new wardrobe from Frederick's of Hollywood. And of course the requisite remodel of the house to put the motorcycle lift in the living room, engine parts in the kitchen and the muzzleloader soaking in the tub. Complete with Budweiser beer can pyramid, pin-ups on the wall and keg taps in every room - to which the woman would be forced to smile awkwardly and say "I like it." or "it's growing on me" while the MAN gushes.

Sarcasm, but to make a point.

I've seen quite a few shows where they do make a room quite masculine. Any while you were out shows where they're suprising a guy do a good job of that. What not to wear makes guys over sometimes (and in a masculine way), and there have been a number of girls that they've said things like "You're guy started dating you when you were wearing this tiny little thing, and now you wear his oversized clothing? That's not even close to fair!"

anywho.... I watch too many makeover/decorating shows I think, to know all this junk

I don't see how there are male things and female things? Except for dresses, and I never understood those anyway.

Jesus Christ, Green. With the possible exception of guys like George "I'm not gay. No, honest. No really. Absolutely not. Well, yeah, I was arrested. Yes I'm gay. I'm proud of it! DRESS ME UP LIKE THE VILLAGE PEOPLE WHILE I SCREAM GAY PRIDE" Michael, very few men agonise over how the pillow slips will match the beautiful batik motif they're painting on the wall to match her favourite childhood toy.

Neither do they fill up their shelves with more "product" than a woman's purse. And use it.

When Mrs. Goth isn't around there are bike parts, pizza boxes and the like strewn around. Because I happen to be male.

Er, have you seen an actual masculine room?

Just because you let Thom whatsisname Queer Eye From the Straight Guy redo the room in dark blues and mahoganies (but yet it still has candles, sconces, coasters, highball glasses and other feminine frippery everywhere) doesn't make a room masculine.

Now, Tommy Lee's dorm room - that is masculine.

makeover shows are the devil. since my perfect decor is hemmingway on safari crossed with bogart in hollywood, complete with a mahogany bar and billiard hall, i'd say my husband's masculinity is safe with me.

Iron Goth, I hear you saying that men don't care about decor. "Shove the crap to the side and put my stuff where it is convienient" seems to be your definition of men's decor.

I don't see "shoving the crap to the side" filling an hour of TV.

On the other hand, there are TV shows that take a month to decorate a motorcycle.

Its all a question of who cares most about what.

im waiting for them to have makeover shows for children...like kids will be playing on a playground and some broad with a microphone comes up to little timmy or little susie and tells them they need a makeover and also their bike needs to be up to date..
sorry that was sorta off topic..
i think all those makeover shows are crap each and everyone of them...they think people care that much about stuff...

How do you all feel about the show "Starting Over".....
