Has anyone been noticing this lately as well? it seems like 8 out of 10 people are having a bad trip these days and then going on to tell people about. Stop doing salvia just cause your friends told you, when you're at a party, when you wanna get fucked up, when your bored, etc...... salvia is not a bullshit substance. salvia is to be used seriously, with clear intent, usually in an almost darkened room, with no sound or some light background music. do people really enjoy putting up videos on fuckking youtube showing how WASTED they got on salvia. showing them walking around babbling like idiots and knocking into shit and obviously showing that they are completely out of control. what kind of message do we think it's sending to our friends in the gov't. they can watch every video online and make up enough reasons to start illegalizing iit in as many states as possible. if those who like to get fucked up on it don't stop (i'm talking mostly about those under the age 18, though there are those over 18 who horribly misuse salvia as well), we're gonna have to be buying this on the streets and that will be a sad, sad day for a beautiful entheogen such as salvia. stop doing things "just because", this is a serious entheogen with huge potentials for helping humantiy, just like entheogens are supposed to do. your supposed to find God with it, not show how stupid you are.

let me clarify, there will always be exceptions in all age groups. this post is not meant to attack everyone, only those who are screwing it up for the rest of us. it's time to cut down on taking HUUUUGE rips of 20x and getting your mind torn up and then saying to everyone that it's a crappy substance. use it responsibly, get to know it first. quidding never hurt anyone :).

    yay! great topic and post!
    I second that.
yet I know that people won't stop abusing the essence of the shepherdess. although she has a way to punish those not respecting her, it's still not enough for them to stop.
when I learned about salvia divinorum, I began researching. and after that I thought about it and if I'm ready for it for months. only after that period I was sure to order it.

now I'm trying to convince her that I'm worthy. the doors are not to be forced, but to be knocked, softly for her to open.
    she still warns me occasionally;

last night's experience was so intense: I tried total darkness this time. the shepherdess has some nasty tricks up her sleeve. like sending "the visitor" back in time billions of years ago and trapping him there.
"no reality" was very hard to endure... especially for all those billions of years forward to "now"...

she deserves the respect she asks for...

    I love lady salvia :)

i agree as well. its always teh same with drugs though the government doesnt want man expanding his mind. then he is deprogrammed from all those years of programming in grade school and being part of society to fit there rol and be the actor in the play. a number in a file. a consumer. look at all otehr psychedelics im surprised salvia was legal for as long as it was.they always use the excuse of what about the children with every drug that comes out that they ban yet they make new drugs every year. and alcohol still remains legal and cigarettes while people die. i use salvia sparingly and with respct and ive not had a bad experience yet. i admit sometimes lady salvia scares me. but i use with the right intent and learning about different realms of reality. she has taught me alot in the last year. ill be sad when i run out n cant get anymore.

I couldn't agree more. those times that i've done salvia with not much intention, just looking for a little time outside of this world, she found a way to reassure me not to take her lightly. i haven't had a bad trip with her, but just very uncomfortable ones that make you want to make sure to be completely respectful next time.

and yes psyche, it's horrible that alcohol and cigarettes consume so many people. why is something being advertised so much in our daily lives when it causes so much suffering. all the while wasting substances that could help people by illegalizing the shit out of them.

Good topic and posts, but I think it's misdirected. I think most, if not all, of this forum's members are responsible users. I don't think the teenagers that completely lose control on salvia and post the video on youtube frequent this forum. Perhaps the best way to fight this problem is to post messages like this in the video's comment section and flag it as inappropriate.

the post was more of just a rant on my part. it wasn't directed to anyone in particular here. i was on youtube earlier that day and saw the seemingly thousands of videos of salvia trips and that's what started my frustration. damn kids!!

tbh it's the bad trips that keep it legal, if it started to become popular then the government will take it away just to be mean....

i'm not sure what you mean because last i checked, the gov't waits until the really bad trips come along, like how they used that kid in delaware who killed himself to illegalize there, to take action against it. i don't really think they care about good trips because they don't really want to make use of salvia in a positive way. anything that changes the way we think is considered dangerous to the gov't.

and even with bad trips, it still has become a massively popular substance. as i said in the original post, look at all the youtube videos. or just look at the number of search results and it'll give you an idea of how popular it's becoming. i think it would be safe to say that not many of those kids (i say kids because most of them usually look like high school KIDS) have very positive trips. a lot of them just flip the fuck out.

anyway back to the point, the bad trips do not seem to affect the popularity of it, and the gov't is fully aware of how popular it's getting even with bad trips. if something is getting that popular even with people going through bad experiences, the gov't should not be hesitating to try to illegalize it, like they've tried to do in most of the states. i'm in PA and they tried to pass a law in 2006 that thank god didn't pass, and i'm sure that many other states have had bills introduced to illegalize it. either way you look at it though, bad trip-good trip, the gov't is still taking action against salvia so the bad trips aren't really stopping them at all.

i've had some REALLY fantastic experiences with salvia, but i've also had some REALLY unsettling experiences with it, as well.

early on i loved it - it gave me great visions and contact with angels, a goddess, etc...

then for a while every time i tried it was scary, unsettling. i never knew what to expect because you never can.

only recently have i begun to be able to use it again. the last three or four times i've tried have been pleasant and the last time very awe inspiring

i've tried very low doses, always while stoned, and using increasingly large doses...get myself reoriented to handling the salvia realm a bit more gracefully, being comfortable with it. i take a SMALL hit of my 10x. if i'm uncomfortable with where it takes me, i dont go in the deep water that night.

yesterday while tripping on HBWR seeds i felt that i was content with being so buzzed and trippy for so long, but really the main intense part of the trip, for me, was in the first two hours while coming up, and the visions where interesting and wonderful, but gone. i knew i'd wanted to try salvia again lately, and wondered if it might be a good idea to try when i'm already tripping somewhat - perhaps make the transition a bit easier.

i took a small test hit, and received more intense effects than i normally would expect from such a small dose. after i was completely reoriented i loaded up a second, bigger hit and was actually welcomed back to the glorious space/dimension to which i'd initially gone when doing salvia...entities were verbally welcoming me, and i was instead the one communicating telepathically stating multipe times "i've returned"

and then, as is true to the nature of salvia, when i finally was getting oriented, able to maintain and explore this foreign realm, i was forced back into my earthly body. as usual, it took me a few minutes to come to grips with my physical self and usual environment, which no longer was what i thought of as "normal"

i think the dissosciated awe at the end of the trip, when you're pushed back into the physical self, can often be the most unsettling part.

anyway, the entirity of the two trips took only about 20-30 minutes...

i definitely had an easier time of transitioning INTO the salvia experience while already tripping, but it didnt make it any easier to come back....

just my two cents, from someone who loved salvia at first, took it and my mind for granted and had a number of really bad trips, but who is working and apparently succeding at reclaiming his ability to make use of this potentially wonderful teacher
