Here is the bag I promised to show everyone. I made it for the Craftster Challenge #20. I still have one more thing to add to it before it is finished (a stencil), but I had to share it. Oh yeah, it's made from plastic Target bags, duct tape adn thread. That's it. The bag hanging up in all it's glory: http://www.flickr.com/photos/twistedstitches/773387611/ The bag opened (showing off the velcro closure and cell phone pocket): http://www.flickr.com/photos/twistedstitches/773387465/ The bag closed: http://www.flickr.com/photos/twistedstitches/773387477/ It's pretty roomy. Great for groceries, going to the beach or just a tote for anything really! I think I am going to make another one of these, as I have so many plastic bags to use up.
Gorgeous! I tried this the other day, and either my iron sucks, or I suck cuz I couldn't get it to look right. Good job!
Okay here is a new updated pic with the final stencil on it. I got the idea from a new trend that is sweeping the Hollywood crowd. There are these new bags on the market made from organic cotton that are selling for upwards of $400. They say " I AM NOT A PLASTIC BAG". So here is my version: http://twistednstitches.blogspot.com/
