Want to make a full skirt ankle length, but I don't want it tiered. Any ideas or patterns.

    A-LINE

    A-frame is a building.

    time for google fu.
A-line is pretty popular and is a classic. there's a great chance you'll find directions online, and def, patterns at a store.

Sorry I been looking at houses lately, But yeah the panels shaped like a capital A (kinda) Measure your hips at the largest part and have this be the top part of the panel and how much you want the flare at the bottom(nothing under about 70inches IMO) and how long you want it ~ or how many inches are goin to seperate top from bottom. I would suggest cutting the fabric on the fold to get the sides even. You don't need a pattern for this skirt its very basic. I need to hit the hay right now Let me know if you need any help and I'll try my best!

thanks! I can picture it now. Before I start cutting my treasures cloth -- what do I do to the top? I'm not fond of drawstrings. They're uncomfortable. Maybe I don't put them on properly. Thanks for all your answers. They're very helpful!

you could just take a bunch of fabric, gather it at the top, and then underneath it for a few rows, and then put a waistband on top..etc?

I like to make the A line, but with panels. You make a bunch of triangles with the tops cut off--the sort of A shape only a bit more narrow (try 3 in front and 3 in back), sew them all together, add elastic at the top and viola! a nice full skirt.
