I recommend every women and man *Pro-life and Pro-choice* reading the book called "Pro-Life Answers to Pro-Choice Arguments." by Randy Alcorn. Im not trying to sell anything but for anyone who is looking for answers... try this book its awesome. I am the leader of Rock For Life chapter in Olean NY. If anyone has any question, please IM me- AOL: mandadotnet or email me at- rockforlife03@yahoo.com God Bless: Amanda
Yes but please don't quote me on this... this is someone else's book! It is basically just anti-life arguments and anti-abortion responses to help an anti-abortion person argue their points. I am personally trained to reply to arguments coming from the anti-life side, but some people are not and they need help when it comes to tough questions. For example... ">Anti-life argument< "If abortion is made illegal, tens of thousands of women will again die from back-alley and clothes-hanger abortions." >Anti-abortion response< 24a. For decades prior to its legalization, 90% of abortions were done by physicians in their offices, not in back alley. (More explaination just to long to type.) >24b<It is not true that tens of thousands of women were dying from illegal abortions before abortion was legalized. (More explaination just to long to type.) >24c< Women still die from legal abortion in the United States (More explaination just to long to type.) >24d< We must not legalize procedures that kill the innocent just to make the killing process less hazardess (More explaination just to long to type.) >24e< The central horror of illefal aborion remains the central horror of legalizing aboriton.(More explaination just to long to type.)" Any questions, please email me or respond on here... ill be checking back!!! And remembers,... ROCK FOR LFIE!!!!!
The fact is that pro-life supporters don't care about those statistics. Their goal is to convince all pregnant women to keep the child. Many view that if a woman dies from having an abortion, she is dying for her sins in actually doing it. I'm not saying this is everyone who is pro-life, but there are some that believe in this. I'm pro-choice and wish not to ever get in a debate on the subject ever again. This debate will continue until the end of time. There are very few people in this world who switch from one stance to the other - its just the way it is.
No- I beg to differ. I do believe that many care about those stats. I do also believe that someday this debate will end, and my generation will stop being murdered. Unfortunatly, i don't have the time to discuss this right now. Please... if you have anything to say... please say it... i will be back tomorrow to reply. RFL Amanda
your generation? are you an embryo with good typing skills? anyway i don't think i could ever have a calm abortion discussion with someone who calls "pro-choice" people "anti-life."
I'm so sick of the abortion debate. For some women, pregnancy is a horrible, ugly, painful, disgusting experience--not to mention then having to take care of a life they may not have wanted to begin with. It is nobody's business but the woman's. Yes, those women should be more careful, but no form of birth control is 100% effective and it is WAY too idealistic to just recommend "abstinence until marriage"--especially since some people don't believe in marriage. Do you honestly expect those women to never have sex in their lives? Yeah right. I much prefer fighting for the rights of those ALREADY HERE. The world has enough people to deal with, there's no use in bringing more in unwanted. By the way, if you're really "pro-life", why don't you lock arms and block cemetaries?
I am pro choice and I don't care what any religion (mainly my own i guess, christianity but I consider myself atheist) tells me. It is the woman's right to decide whether to have the baby or not, and if she cannot decide for herself then theres something wrong with this country. In 7th grade I did a debate on abortion, nbow i think i should have made it medicinal marijuana. but we who were for abortion kicked ass in that debate.
i am pro child & pro choice. it is complicated to explain but i do beleive if want to have or need to have an abortion it should be my choice and no one should stand in my way.
exactly. that sort of terminology immediately clouds people's judgement of an argument, no matter how factual and 'good' it might be.
perfect. i agree. abortion totally breaks my heart. but i'm not going to stop women who need the from having them to stop the ones who are just doing it out of personal convenience.
Amen. I am pro-choice...I CHOSE to have my babies. But, it's not my place to make that decision for others. Rockforlife, are you pro-life, or only anti-choice?
MY OPINION i don't agree with abortion for many reasons, mostly because of how they are done. i know much more about the techniques used then most people do, it's horrible, unhumane and i can't think of a word bad enough to describe how they are done. but i don't think that women should be judged for having them or thinking about having them. i think that they should be comforted and women thinking about it should be informed so they know what kind of choice they are making and then left to make their choice.
abortions are terrible procedures. i think all people know this. and it is a decision that is not entered into lightly. i've seen the choice destroy some people mentally. i myself am pro-choice. and as it was put earlier pro-child. i do not agree however with people standing outside clinics brandishing banners and screaming at women who enter them. that disgusts me.
I do not believe in judging someone for what they have done. All i wish to do is to inform someone of what they are thinking of doing, and help the ones who have. I believe there is forgivness from God for all thing. I appologize if I have offended anyone by my terminology. (anti-abortion and anti-life) But i do not a agree with the fact that the correct terminology for abortion minded peope is "pro-choice". When you walk into an abortion clinic and are abortion minded, they do not give you any options. they do not tell you about adoption and how happy you can make someones life. I believe that Planned Parenthood is selling everyone, who is abortion minded and decides to get an abortion, a product. They do not care about the people who come in... they care about the profit they will make off of killing an innocent child. I also know a lot about how many of the abortion procedures are done, like i said... I am a chapter leader for Rock For Life. It is disgusting. And women (and men) need to be informed of what this really does (kills a human being) and what their options are. God Bless RFL Amanda
You take the minority... i know many pro-life groups who stand and pray peacefully outside abortion clinics. They do not hold disgusting signs and they do not scream and yell at the women who enter. There is one group in particular who you are thinking of and that is "Army of God" pro-life group, they are pro-life i will give them credit, but they amke the whole pro-life community look bad. Yelling and screaming is not a way to tell someone you care. I know two people who have been destroyed physically and mentally bya abortions. This part of your post i agree on. Yet there is something that bothers me... How can you be pro-choice or as you called it pro-child if you believe in killing them? To be pro-choice (choosing) about abortion is to be pro-abortion.... for abortion... you are choosing to have an abortion. I heard this from someone and its a really good thing to think about. Suppose drug-dealing was legalized... like some have advocated and then you heard someone argue this way for selling cocaine... "Im personally not in favor of drug-dealing, but this is a matter for a drug-dealer to decide between himself and his attorney...." There is no significant difference between people who are in favor of drug-dealing and people who don't like it personally but believe it should be an option. This is the same thing you are saying with abortion... just something to think about... God Bless.. If you want to talk or anything... you can IM me on aim- mandadotnet or email me at rockforlife03@yahoo.com or PM me here. RFL Amanda
i think that maybe you took my post the wrong way. there is nothing you said that i disagree with. i just stated it in my own words because when it comes to abortion i just can't keep my mouth shut, its the subject that i am most passionate about.
I give you props for being passionate about the subject... I didnt take your post the wrong way... I dont think... it was late at night.. let me read again. RFL Amanda
I was just talking about how i started this thread. I used... "anti-life" instead of "pro-choice" like everyone wanted me to. So i apologized for that yet explained how i do not think that "pro-choice" is the correct terminology. RFL amanda
okey dokie!!! man, when i was little there was this huge dutch family up the road, i think there were like 13 kids, and they were all living there!!! and the boys would go around everyonce in awhile trying to get people to sign a petition to make abortions the mens choice, so that husbands could force their wifes to have abortions. that didn't mean much to me at the time, but looking back at it, whoa!!! i don't understand how anyone thinks that's how it should be!! i don't agree with abortion, but i still think that while it's legal it is the womans choice, no one else can make it for her!!!!
