i seem to have another problem with one of my sprouts,by now it should have many many leaves, but each time a new leaf comes out one of the leaves on the sprout dies(turns brown/fadesaway).... but there are two leaves that dont die and they are considerablly larger than the other leaves on all the other sprouts, but each time a new leaf comes out one of the other leaves dies (excluding these the ones that seem to survive for some reason)

Sounds like your babies are becoming "plants" and not just starts.
Their getting their 'true leaves", not to worry its the process of them growing up.
If they fail would suggest you start them much earlier next year. This is July and they should have been hardy plants now. Next time try starting them in March.
