I just got back from the midnight premiere of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I thought it was really fantastic. My only complaints are that it was a bit too short and that there wasn't nearly enough of the Weasley family. The Weasley family was really important in the book, but they weren't made out to be as important in the movie. Anyway...so, are any of you planning on seeing this movie? If you already have, what are your thoughts on it?
omgosh i am so envious!! i need to see it!! ...thats disappointing about the weasleys i love them they are totally important but i am still psyked to see it.. im glad you thought it was so great it made me wanna go more.. honestly i have heard nothing but awesome reviews
thats very dissappointing to hear about the minimization of the Weasley's role. i'll see the movie after the crowds die down. one thing i must point out about the marketing of this book/series...... well besides the brilliance..... one disadvantage of having the offset but annual release of a movie and a book from the series is that i just can't be fanatical enough to want to see a movie right away - when i'm already reading 1-2 books ahead of that movie in the series.
Hey, Walrus, I wanted to ask about music if you noticed - was there any sign of the early themes of John Williams's soundtracks from first three HP movies? Cause when I watched The Goblet of Fire it just made me really unusual in a bad way, even a bit uncomfortable about the new music.
I think that it was quite good, but I also think that it was to short I also feel it had a different feel to it than the other movies did. I am a HUGE fan though so it didn't faze me to much i was just happy that i finally got to see it!
i think harry potter is getting really old, its like is it over yet? its been going on since i was in like 4th grade
I didn't like it.. was way to rushed WAY! And I didn't like the battle scene for sirius I wish they would have made that part out to be longer. I mean when he dies its the most tragic thing and it was like 3 sec that pissed me off!
Yeah, you heard traces of "Hedwig's Theme" and whatnot every once in a while, but the rest of the music was kind of...odd and synth-y, almost.
I went to see it at the midnight premier too. It was pretty amazing I thought it was the best movie so far. but of course the books are better. I'll be there at midnight tomorrow night getting it too. [[= lol.
Ah it was alright, they missed out loads though which meant that the film had major plot holes if you have not read the book.
Exactly. Ex-fucking-actly. Although I did see the movie and I thought it was ok. Helena Bonham Carter is in it and I love her.
I saw the movie last week, and i must say i didn't really enjoy it that much.. I liked the books alot better, and there was quite alot of stuff the left out in the movie, and that wasen't right.
I read the books and because the movies have never lived up to the amazingness of the books (in my opinion, I know many don't agree), I thought this movie would be the same, but I was actually quite impressed and happy with it.
I thought it was going really well until about the last ten minutes. The movie just kind of wrapped up in about ten or fifteen minutes and it really felt like a bit of an anticlimax. I still think that the second was by far the best
i liked the movie but it was way too short and although i havent read the book i felt as if there was a lot of stuff missing... and some plot holes. My favorites of the series would have to be the first and the forth ones they were just the right lenght and very well made
