Ok well I have a question.. If I slowly begin to shave against the grain in the pubic area, will the skin begin to adjust?

I recall about 2 years ago when i started I tried that and it bleed really bad. But I figured if I slowly begin to progress with against the grain shaving then maybe It will adjust and stop having razorburn or irritation?

Just wondering since Shaving with the grain always leaves it too prickly. Well if you rub ur hand downward of course its kinda smooth but up, it can feel like quite scratchy.

If you go against the growth pattern, you are going to get razor burn and ingrown hairs no matter what...and the ingrown hairs can get infected....better to deal with a bit of stubble....or try waxing it....

Wouldn't waxing be worse than against the grain shaving, since ur actually pull the hair out? lol

it may be more painful, but no, it would not be worse at all. When you shave, you remove layers and layers of skin, especially if you go against the grain.

Use shaving cream and not a new razor.. one that you've you a while.. shave with the grain and get it all nice and smooth and then the last time shave up against the grain. always keep using shaving cream. I've never had a problem shaving me or any of my ex's.

kinda bullshit advice to me. I have always shaved against the grain. Yes, at first you may get many cuts as your skin is not used to it. But if you use ultra sensative shaving cream and don't press too hard with the razor (if its new, let the razor do its own work) and it'll turn out nice and smooth in all directions. Across the grain is nice too. However, I always let it grow out a little more before I shave again (4-7 days) otherwise no shit u will get cut. But when u get that smooth, its SUPER smooth for about 2 days until u can feel the prickliness again. I know girls who always go against the grain as well, so it might depend on the person.

Yea my newest technique is the the side of the grain, which causes less razor burn (red bumps) although I am scared to ever try against again since it causes a lot of bleeding. (Indeed I only used water and a razor back then, but I have tried minorly against in one area. The whole damn spot was bleeding, and then within 1 day a cluster of bumps formed again.

Perhaps if I do against the grain for a few weeks then the hairs and skin will adapt but I would have to endue a lot of hell probably for the time being, waiting for it to change and get used to the technique of against.

I shave with only water, aganist the grain and it's fine, it all depends on your skin.
