haha... india is changing.... india used to be this very different and exiting place, you know about the hippies, the osho and all this yoga/meditation movement.... in the 60-70-80 es.... It is almost gone. People pay for a 3 day course.... and they think they can master this or that. but it is not only the fault of the tourist, they come with good intentions, ( but are usually quite spiritually immature in general) It is also the faults of the gurus! The theachers.... they have have becme older, greeder, and lazier. They saw how their position as a "guru" (haha, sorry, i dont like that word) could give them great advantages= groupies..... SO, my point is, todays older teacher are just dirt old greedy men.... how can you get spiritual in that way?
if the 'gurus' have become greedier and lazier then it means they were never 'real' gurus in the first place in my opinion...I don't think you can become 'unenlightened'... Maybe that is the problem? People faking to get money out of otherwise well-intentioned spiritual individuals... But yes, I think you are right, though I was never around in the 70-80's so I wouldn't know.
Most everything in India is about money. Spirituality too. And most everything in this world needs to be fast and easy. Getting enlightened too.
