its legal in the US at the moment, or at least not illegal.

Harmala is just the MAOI that is found in Rue and Banisteriopsis caapi. These are easly found online at distributers where you get most other raw materials. Now to get pure Harmala you would need to probably extract it and i dont know if that would then make it illegal at that point or not, my guess is that it is still un-scheduled. I will see what i can find about Rue extractions i have seen teks some place about it.

I know that harmala is legal. I was looking for it being available as a pure chemical. I posted it here because it can be used in ayahuasca

You can find harmaline on the internet. The alkaloids have specific names, so you can search for those names. Remember that harmine is completely inactive, so don't buy that one. Also I mean even IAmShaman has a harmala extract.

I never bothered buying them becuase the seeds themselves are so damn cheap. I can't pass up a drug that is so inexpensive that I could just throw it away or give it out.

On iamshama a pound of seeds (450g) is $20. The maximum you need for potentiating the DMT in ayahuasca is just 3g.

Why would they be scheduled? MAOI's are not psychoactive.

MAOIs are psychoactive, but not typically euphoric. It depends largely on what you take with them. Of course this is a generalization as each drug is a little different, each has different affinity to MAOA vs. MAOB and may be reversible or a suicide inhibitor. The effect of harmaline (harmala seed extract) alone in my experience was sedation (reminiscent of a benzo, but essentailly null euphoria).

 

my friend took a bunch on it's own and enjoyed it greatly. He probably ate something that made it work so nicely for him.

 

harmala isn't just an extract, it is the name of a chemical. I was looking to buy it from a chemical company (like with dxm, or how rc's used to be) to give to a friend who might mix it with pure dmt.
