its called marketing. they do what sells because it sells. period. it pays their rent. some of them enjoy doing it. some of them wear earplugs or are very nearly stone deaf. (that last is rather well documented by the way, as is sentence number two above) =^^= .../\...
they give their fan base what they want, what I am wondering, is why you listen to music you dont like just to complain about it? There is plenty of music that doesnt shout. I know I seek out what I find pleasing.
i know many ppl find it ok or even beautiful i cant see any beauty though i would love numerous bands if they didnt scream i dont normally watch mtv coz i dont watch tv at all when i study no time and willing for that stuff but it's summer and i have plentyog free time ya smotrju mtv prosto chtobi v ocherednoj raz porazitsya tuposti etix peredach i cennostei, kotorie propagandiruet kanal mtv has some pluses though they show rchp concerts sometimes
Idk... I just know I can't stand all that "RAAAARRRR, RAAAARRRR ERRRRR GRRRR RAAARRRRR" shit... My brother is in a band such as that and he was talent on the drums and guitar. Real talent but their band sounds like shit to me.
Yep. That's their deal. So hardcore. Funny thing is many of the band members of such bands that I've known led a VERY privledged life. But, you know, their girlfriend might have broke up with them and someone probably cut them off in a line last week and maybe they got kicked out of a diner..... It's some serious shit. RAAARRRR.
The RHCP started sucking after Californication. They did have a good run at it though. But that's beyond the point... Screaming is extremely melodic, and it also conveys a huge carnal effect... it's not easy to explain... there is just something pure about it, something from your roots that you can't pinpoint, but you can relate to it... I love metal, but real metal... not that Sevendust shit.
Lots of utter rubbish is posted in this thread. Screaming isn't only to be seen as trendy at all. It's a different way of expression, and it certainly doesn't mean the lyrics are shitty at all. There are very many uses of screaming in music, just as singing. You just can't say all music with screaming can't mean something or can't be truly beautiful. I don't like a lot of screaming neither though, it seems useless to me as well in some cases, Chemical romance is one of them, but I guess that's just because it's not my thing. It doesn't speaks to me lyrical- or musicalwise. Just as a lot of music with singing voices as well. Even Robert Plant and Ian Gillan screamed. All people who wonder why some bands feel like they need screaming in their music should listen to Child in time again.
I agree with Asmodean. Also listen to "Bathtub Shitter" if you want to hear some talented screaming. http://www.myspace.com/shitterofbathtub
A song which lies perhaps closer to something of My chemical romance, more alternative rock-like then metal, and what I also like to recommend because it's pure emotion in screams (to me) is Killing in the name of. I rarely fall for this kind of rock, but they do it extremely well in this song.
Its about aggression. Cradle of Filth are terrible, and anything you see on MTV is terrible. If you play heavy as fuck music, you gotta crank up the voice. It just sounds right.
You can also try "Anal ****" Or if you want something milder... Sepultura's "Chaos A.D." album has some pretty screaming. Some of those that work forces, are the same that burn crosses.
yeah, Rage is totaly cool! (but they don't scream, ve're talking about whole diferent kind of screaming here)
Oh yes... and even better screaming... Check out the band "Halloween". Brian Thomas can reach some hiiiiigh notes. Plus... the songs are hilarious in a way that only heavy metal can create.
You just reminded me, i have forgoten about all my metal cds, i should find them and yeah Halloween is really really cool
RARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR metal is good every once in a while you gotta love a good scream, my chemical romance can eat me they're such a shitty band
