Well, I'm happy! I love Boris and at least he will bring some fun back into politics (yes I know it's not meant to be fun... but still!!) He has my vote, haha!
Agreed with Chris. I do find Boris funny, but I'd much rather he stayed on Have I Got News For You where he can't do any harm. I do wish people would take politics a bit more seriously and vote on parties and principles not on personalities. I have a feeling quite a few people will vote for Boris because he's funny. I think these people should probably be shot as they're much more detrimental to the wellbeing of the country than the people who might vote for Boris because they genuinely believe in what he stands for....
tory bastards should be hung drawn and quartered and tory bastards with the name boris should be stuck in a high rise flat with 25 floors and with the lift not working and should be caught in the real boris the spiders web and be forced to listen to the who"s version whilst taking vast amounts of acid .
Maybe a lot of what he says is missed in with all the mocking. I seriously have no idea if he would be good for London. I'd prob' vote for him because he seems genuine and reasonably honest about public issues. I'd not write him off as a ''tory tosser'' - that is just as stupid as writing him off cuz he is funny. Good luck Boris. http://www.boris-johnson.com/
Well, by that, I mean that he still follows basic tory spending principles, which involve really fucking public services. I thought that was fairly implicit through calling him a tory tosser as opposed to just a tosser.
Not all Conservatives are tossers - that is the mistake we make sometimes imho. We swiftly pigeon hole people. If he fucks it up then sure call him a tosser - but come on chris give him a chance. Many will either hide behind having their arms tied by the prevailing goverment [i.e new Labour] or blame their inadequacies on their own party. The role does allow for some autonomous thought and power - remember. Boris seems to genuinly care for the ''public services'' he will have authority over. He looks like he will take praise and criticism with equal aplomb.
I wonder if someone could get elected into a government position just through something like that. It's be one hell of an interesting experiment...
Well he's said he is not going to do anything to upset the multimillionairs. He reckons that they create jobs. I think thats bull shit but thats another story. He did say he was going to tackle the extortionate tax levels of the poor workers/those on benefits. He didn't say where he was going to replace the lost tax revenue from. This is all at a time when taxes will have to be increasing anyway. Lets face it, he just wants a new job and hasn't got a clue as to what he's going to actually do. I wouldn't be surprised if the .gov gave him their support. bejayzus, whats the country comming to, or when did we get here? But yeah, he is a bit funny. ok thats mainly the Guardians take on it. Ususally read the indipendent myself. http://www.guardian.co.uk/guardianpolitics/story/0,,2127993,00.html
Surely for any socialist right wing politicians have got to be tossers, why would anyone question that fact ? If the proposal is that all politicians are of equal consideration then we will have entered the world of personality politics.
