Whats wrong with honey man, I mean, if you buy local, you can check to make sure that the bees are kept in a humane way, I mean, thats what I did at least.
It's still an animal product, and exploiting another species for our own consumption. So in that respect there's no diffrence between honey and any other animal product.
ahhhhh, alright I get your philosophy. See, im just a vegetarian for the healthier lifestyle it offers.
Honey is one of the biggest debates out there. There is even debate among vegans because so many bees die in the process of retrieving the honey. Some people use it and others don't. I think you have to decide for yourself. I'm also veggie for health reasons mostly. I do use honey. Kathi
Conventional pasteurized honey from unhealthy bees that are fed sugar water and anti-biotics isn't really fit for human consumption imo... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqJdmeTfo2s
I'm vegan and i eat honey. I don't see what the big deal is if we're buying it off a friend who owns bees who produce way more honey than they need.
Many would say you just contradicted yourself, me included. Not so much on a moral basis, but you just cancelled out the definition of a vegan Im sure i read somewhere that bees producing more honey than they need is a myth. Anyway, besides that, i just dislike our farming of animals for use. And also as the others have said, veganism to me is a philosophy. I dont use other beings for my own gain and profit. Besides, honey is so easy to eliminate from the diet and the alternatives are so many, theres not really much excuse. Many bees ARE killed, and just because theyre smaller creatures and we dont understand fully how their "minds" work, what difference does that make?
Having said i eat honey, i can't remember the last time i did so maybe i'll give it up starting from now Oh and about the farming of animals for our use, what about ants and aphids?
