I need more info about pruning. Meangreen's sticky is useful and there are a couple of other guides out there, but I'm still not confident I'm doing it right. I'm sure a active pruning thread would be really useful to lots of ppl here. eg, I want to grow short wide bushes but I can't get the lower branches to grow as vigourously as the tops. If I top 'em, they just split in 2 but then keep growing from the top. How can I stimulate the lower nodes so I get more outward growth instead of just up?
After you top and the plant has recovered, train the two new main stems down or to the side to allow the lower nodes to catch up. Do a google search for low stress training and some guides or threads from other site will come up. Good luck and good vibes.
Thanks guys, I found plenty of info. I tied down my plants and I'm gonna train the stems round the edge of the pots in a spiral with sections of clothes hanger as hooked stakes so all the nodes are growing from a level horizontal plane. Just thinking about all the big buds I'm gonna get is making me dizzy
