Just whipped up this quick, easy recipe because I wanted to try steamed carrots. It turned out so good! This will definitely be a new staple in my diet for when I want a healthy treat. *In a small pot I put about 1/2 to an inch of water, salted, brought to boil. *Added two handfuls of organic baby carrots. *Sprinkled with a small pinch each of fresh ground black pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. *Covered and let steam for about 4 minutes. *Drained excess water and put back on heat. *Added a drizzle of honey and a dash of cinnamon. *Kept pot moving over flame to avoid burning and allowed for slight caramelization of carrots. *Served hot with a bit of butter. Yummy!!!
Mmmmm steamed baby carrots are soooo good! I usually make mine with fresh ground ginger and cinnamon....mmmm.
