i LOVE the white stripes - they were the first bandi really got into, i have all their albums and i love them all - although i gotta say, 'get behind me satan' was the worst. it was just plain soppy. good in places, but it wasn't exactly dynamic. but Icky Thump is livin' up to all expectations, i think it's awesome! it's great to see the white stripes back to their old selves :)

Icky Thump is certainly a great album, lot of nice blues work. I think the contrast with Get Behind Me was an increase in the presence of orgran/piano and a decrease in blues rock. Get Behind Me also had very little in the way of old songs "redone" which was a strong theme in a lot of their older albums.

I was in flint, michigan a couple days ago w/ my cousin and he played the album and although I'm not so into the white stripes there was one song with a spanish horn segment(you know what I'm talking about) that was fucking badass i gotta say.
