Hey, I know its still a little while away but i always worry that when i graduate Im gonna screw up somewhere...everyones always talking about how they are gonna go right to 4 years of college and keep their life "on track", but I wanted to know what its like to just Move Away and Chill for a couple years after high school (maybe make some cash?).??? And then go on to community college and after that whatever. Pretty much is it possible to get away and just live off a mediocre job somewhere and still party and do the shit you wanna do? If anyones been thru this then tell me how to do it right!!!!
It is almost impossible to get through college in 4 years anymore. Most colleges don't offer enough classes for all the students that attend so it makes things really tough. I had to get special permission my last semester to take a class that was full so I could graduate.
yea, I just wanna know how hard it is to just leave and live on your own and if you can still keep the good times rollin
I got high for 8 years then joined the Navy. The Navy has been good for me and I dont regret a thing, not the 8 years or the military.
It can be done. I partied worked a full time job and went to school. I had a great time. I did live at home for my first 2 years of school so I could save some money though.
If you totally separate from school its hard to come back and get into that routine again. That being said I think right after highschool is a little early for many to be deciding what they want to do with their lives. I spent 2 years right after highschool in a course that I ended up deciding to completly separate from and started fresh in a new course last year. Ive got friends who have taken breaks, some havent come back from their breaks yet.
I'm not sure that it's worth worrying if you're doing things the right way around, so long as your growing, becoming a stronger person and learning from it, you'll end up doing what you really want to do.
A couple things to consider - don't not go to uni because you want to have fun. If partying is your bag, university is the tops. Secondly, the odds of going back to school after more than one year off get significantly lower each time. Third, odds are you won't be making good money during that year - you have no skills and no seniority. You'll either be living at home or living on your home barely surviving. I'd recommend school if its at all possible.
College is a bitch. Strait up, but if you want the money and want to make your life easier in the long run when you really need it, do it. I give much respect to anyone who attempts college. If you make it out, more respect. I dont like college. In fact i hate education, but ya know what? Its something we need in order to deal with todays bullshit just to surive in this world. That and so many things you can learn from the college experience that you cant if you dont go. Experience is good, even if it seems bad at the time. Leaving home is hard but its a good thing in its own way. If you get the chance to go to college right out of highschool. DO IT, you will thank yourself later.
i took fewer classes than were recommended by my advisors, and still graduated in 4 years while trying my hardest to stretch it out to 5. if you have any sort of scholastic competence whatsoever, just go to school and party while you're there, because you'll still get by with great success, as college is a fucking joke for most people with over a 90 IQ. when people take breaks they tend to keep growing until they just don't even remember how to go back to school anymore. yet, despite everything i've said, you certainly can get by on not going to school. i wasted 4 years pretending to learn, got my degree, and now i work at a pizza place. my point isn't that school is a waste that leaves you making pizza, my point is that i work at a pizza place for slightly above minimum wage and i make more than enough money to get by (and party a lot more than i should). i have drivers that make much less money than me and still use it to support multiple children. as long as you have a small semblance of self control, it's no problem to get by on minimum wage, even if you do like to have fun on the side
Stay in school. I did, and became a lawyer at 24, and never regretted it, although I was tired of school when i finally graduated. If you leave school, you may never go back and you will regret it all your life.
