Hi, I wrote a book for my daughter, Lilac, called "Random Advice & Hippy Values, for ages 12 to Adult." It's on this site, at http://hippy.com/lilac/topics.htm. If you like it, feel free to download a free copy. It was written as a gift to Lilac, but since it has been on hippyland for seven years, it has kind of turned into a gift for everyone. Bye. Thank you both... Feel free to go to the download page http://hippy.com/lilac/the_book.htm to get the book for free, if you'd like a printed version. You have my permission to hand it out, too, if you'd like, so long as you do not charge any money for it. Bill Lilac's dad
Thank you so much for that It was truely inspiring and very well-written, and will encourage others as well as your daughter to spread love and make decisions for themselves. I think I will print this off and then keep it, perhaps for the children that will be a part of me someday, and also share it with some people I know. Thank you again for giving the people here an opportunity to read this beautiful work, you should be proud that you wrote that and shared it. I especially agree with the ocean part, my thoughts exactly. Humans seem to have this overwhelming urge to test their "strength" by seeing whom or what they can hurt and overpower. We are not stronger because we can put a piece of metal in a bear-s chest, we are not smarter because we can overtake what we want, we are not more powerful because we can cut down trees, put a creature in a cage and expolit it, or because we have weapons. It is quite the opposite. Nature is the most powerful and beautiful thing on the earth, and it deserves to be respected. Just because the trees and animals lay silent as we hurt, exploit, and waste them, does not make them any lower than us. Maybe they're more understanding and loving, or maybe we're all equal. If you listen to the ocean, sit with the trees, and love nature, then yes, you are equal.
