Christian Vander is an absolute genius. Collectively, the Theusz Haamtaak Trilogie(check the spelling on that one) is arguably the most brilliant piece of music in Progressive history, over 2 hours of mind-numbing musicianship.

Very, very hard to get into, there is so much going on and yet to the untrained ear it appears highly repetitive. Minimalist and subtle, as well, you can't do anything else while enjoying their music or you will miss the point dearly. Their music is in the prog sub-genre of Zeuhl(celestial), one they created themselves, from a word of the improvised and organized language of Kobaian. Heavy use of operatic singing, screeching, screaming, laughing. Bass playing of the most subtle nature and guitarists who are actually the smallest focus on stage. The man has created a breed of music unheard before himself.... it won't make any sense with the first listening, and with most significant pieces ranging from 30-50 minutes, it takes some dedication to get into.

Their work is expensive to buy and impossible to find in the states. Download all you can, they have a mind-blowing DVD for 70 dollars which you find on torrent sites, Theusz Haamtaak.

Please, make your best effort to appreciate their music, it is very difficult to understand, but it will take you to seperate planes of existence, trust me. Use psychedelics if you must. Their live music blows their recordings out of the water, get the album "Live" first.

    Any other fans out there?

at first when i heard them i couldnt really get into them at all. im still having a hard time having the patience and listen to most of their music. still though, i can't get over KA, Live, and the Theusz Haamtaak Trilogie, the physical and musical endurance they have to play an almost 3 hour show blows my mind. i can't really listen to albums like attahk or 1001 centigrades, i dont really know why
