Ok, so sometimes you get lucky and find a job that you really enjoy, that you are passionate about or stimulates your mind and then sometimes you find a job that is just about footing the bill until the whole "big plan" comes together. Well, that is where I am at the current moment....saving money away for a home and having to work hard (and sometimes long) hours to get there.....

When I first started here I realized quickly that the people were, well, gloomy. In fact the building was even gloomy...no color, no happiness. No one seemed to speak to each other alot and looked down at the ground as they passed each other on the way from point A to point B. The boss has a huge heart, but it is overshadowed by his temper and his poor outlook on life in general. It can also be down right stressful....there are always a million and one things to be done and everything is a rush.

Since being here now for sometime I have tried to be upbeat and get the place a bit brighter.....adding plants, pictures, silly posters, music, etc. But I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar circumstance and has found ways to lighten the air and bring some happiness into a place you spend a good part of your life in!

Consider introducing other types of music to help improve the environment.

More people should realize that time with coworkers, may far exceed the hours spent with family/friends.

    Good luck!

if you can ,install more lights in your work area, low lighting causes eye strain and a generally depressive work environment, or see if you can allow more natural light into the place. remember some people actually like it that way and theres not much you can do to change them.

if i were you i'd just get another job
