everything you need for a basic cubenis operation

Lets say someone wanted to have a try at a quick mushroom operation. Now, being the first time trying this, they need to know the simplest most basic way to go about this, with the least chance of spoiling everything.

to make this even more interesting, all equipment ( minus the syringes, spores, and such) must be bought on a meijer gift card... Obviously if something else is truely needed, it will be bought.

--12-24(However many you want really) Non-Shouldered 1/2 Pint Mason Jars
--1 Bag Organic Brown Rice Flour(Organic Brown Rice works too but you will need to grind it)
--1 Bag Vermiculite
--Aluminum Foil
--Spore Syringe
--Alcohol Lamp/Butane Lighter
--Rubbing Alcohol
--Plastic Tub (Any size depending on amount of jars) To Create a Fruiting Chamber (You may also grow them directly out of the mason jars but you will get poor yields)
--1 Bag Perlite
--A Pressure Cooker and/or Big Pot for steaming

lysol or some other dissinfectent spray....small clean room with no drafts......a dark place......a grand excuse to your parents why you have a pressure cooker cooking for over an hour (very importent).....all in all it will cost $60 for every thing $120 if you get a pressure cooker....oh lastly a bit of advise, if using a pot, place a rag under the jars to protect them, and if using 8oz jars, 30 mins into cooking add pre-boiled water from another pot so it doesn't boil dry.....hope this is what you wanted.

 

Don't do anything illegal like growing shrooms around your parents, wait untill you move out, thats what I did and time really went fast. IT IS WORTH THE WAIT.

seems like you know what your doing. Shroomery is the place to go. I would do the popcorn tech because you just grow on popcorn kernals. For the incubator look at the plans with the tub in tub one with the fish heater on the bottom. and for the fruiting chamber look for the one with the two tubs and the polyfill on the sides. It doesnt get much simpler than that.

 

ok thanks, do u have a link to the tub or the popcorn tech. and i am not selling i just want to grow like a 1/2 p or lb so i dont ever have to grow any for a long time, and why does everyone think i live w/ my parents ? i am 21 lol

 

try different methods of growing them and see what works best. eventually you'll be crumbling up pint cakes and just casing them all but its still fun growing off cakes.

 

ok between your responses and private messages i think ive got a good idea of what to do....
i REALLY need to know.... How do i come across GOOD substrate w/o ordering it off the net? i mean, what do i need to pressure cook? what all should i mix in? what can i buy at a local store (like meijers) and MAKE substrate with?
also, real quick can someone tell me WHAT exactly vermiculite and pearllite are? i know i spelled it wrong....

vermiculite is this rock stuff that retains water and perlite is a porous type of rock that evaporates water into the air. get em both at gardening stores.

 

only thing you need off the net really is spores....i suggest sporestore.com great prices selection and fast shipping, good spores too. lowes and wal-mart will have the rest.

 

Its all on shroomerys site, just keep surfing it and you will find all the tutorials, popcorn tek is supposed to be real great and easy. I gave it to you as basic and easy and cheap as it gets with real good results. you can buy already sterilized jars with substrate in them off the web but its cheaper and better if you learn to do it yourself so you can do it again and again. Look for a pressure cooker or get a large ass pot.
