Hi. thnx for reading this. I need names of free multimedia player software. Please do'nt even mention the 'BIG 3' ain't interested in them. Gotta be some decent stuff out there. I'd get 'DJPower' but it's like $1200 these days stripped.
Got it. I like it for the odd video file. But, I think it's a little stripped down. I'm more specifically looking for new (to me) MP3 player software. Something with burn ability and removable device support.
I'm gonna try 'MPlayer' and give it an honest chance. Thanks for the help you folks. I'll close the thread now if I can.
Matt-the best mp3 software I have is the one that came with my new Kenwood car stereo system-It's called PHATNOISE MEDIA MANAGER-It takes the files from my p2p site and converts them to mp3 and does it real fast and accurate-It has a good player and it compresses the files down so I can get about 50 songs on a cd-I'm sure you can get it without buying the car system.
I'm just looking for a 3rd party mp3 player for my PC that lets me build and use playlists, and lets me put them on a removeable device. MusicMatch got bought out by Yahoo, and the stand alone versions no longer work. Just need a replacement. But, I'll check out that Phatnoise.
Yea-I use WMP 11 to listen and burn cd-rs'. My home system won't play mp3's-so for the house I burn using WMP-all DVD s get done on Convert X To DVD or 1Click DVD Pro or 1Click DVD Copy-but of course none are copyrighted!-you might check Bit Torrent for Phatnoise-
Matt-I just looked it up and it's at PHATNOISE.COM and they have a free 30 day trial and it includes the encoding-The system is for the home as well as cars' so I may download the home version to do the dvr. It really is a nice setup-
Are you running Windows? The only good ones I know of are for Linux only. Have you ever thought about giving it a try? You can use Live CD's so you don't have to actually install anything, just run it from your CD drive.
Yes. Windows XP home. Why I need it is so that I can take some tunes with me when I go out. I've got a multi-fiunction digital cam that plays mp3's off the memory card.
This is one of the hottest free players out there. http://www.gomplayer.com/main.html You need to latest codecs installed as well. It helps to have a wide selection. http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm This package also includes Media Player Classic. It will play most anything. Mentioned earlier, VLC is excellent for broken or damaged or PART files. Good ol' Winamp does alot more than it used to. www.winamp.com It burns to ipods as I recall. x
Thanks. I'll check it out. My portable is not an iPod. It is an 'Aiptek' Multi-function. And uses that basic square lookin ram card.
I know. I'm just too lazy for that. :H Plus I like playlist ability and library control that I had with MusicMatchJukebox. Yahoo bought em out, and incorperated the code into thier site.
I see you're a John Denver fan. When John's father was still in the Air Force, his family would come visit my aunt and uncle in Florida. They worked at Eglin AFB and somehow managed to become friends. They had them over for sunday dinners quite often. x
