Hi there! I live in New York City, and I am looking for a friend and companion to share wilderness backpacking adventures in the Catskill Mountains, as well as other places within a three hour drive of Manhattan. I would love to show you hidden waterfalls in the forest and climb mountains with you, which have inspired the Hudson River school of landscape painters. I have all the camping equipment needed to live a clean, health, comfortable and safe existence in a forest, ranging from a water purifier to a miniature stove to a tent heater to a portable shower. I am also interested in sharing a trip to the Rainbow Family Gathering in the Allegheny National Forest from Sunday, August 12th through Sunday the 19th. It's a 350 mile, 6.5 hour road trip from NYC. I care just as much about the environment as I do about nurturing relationships. I am hoping both of us will return from our journey a little more enlightened and inspired by mother earth and each other.
The shower is shown here: http://www.stearnsinc.com/NC_ProductsList.aspx?CategoryID=8571968 It's a Stearns B110 model. It's operated with a foot pump. I heat water on a camp stove and pour it in using a funnel. If the air temperature is cold, I shower inside an Exped Tipi Tarp Tent, heated with a Coleman SportCat catalytic propane heater. I only live in the mountains on a temporary basis as a form of recreation.
