Let's suppose you walk into your house during the winter time. Your firplace (let's suppose you have 1) is burning hot. Sitting in a chair in front of the firplace is none other than God himself. He is holding an infant, who is peacefully sucking on a pacifier. God then tells you that this baby will grow up and be responsible for the end of mankind as we know it. It will grow up to destroy the human race somehow. Next, he tells you to throw the baby in the fireplace, causing it to burn to death. What would you do?
I am a Christian, though not the kind you may be used to  Christ Conciousness is something we all can attain. ~
I would ask God, as he is all knowing, if I would be dead and my girlfriend would be dead before that time and if we would be happily in heaven. Note that this could only happen *IF* god exists... Now, if he would say, yes, you two will be living happily together in heaven at that point, then seriously, I would not give a crap what that kid will do, aslong as i'm happy... yes very selfish... I know. No seriously, what the fuck? Like god could not do it himself? Why on earth, if he exists, would he do that? Just simply get rid of it himself while he's there anyway, gimme a break. Besides, it's not solid that you would have to be the one to end it, he's not the only one he can ask, he got a couple of million left... this so doesnt make sense.
In that scenario, *IF* God exists, I would'nt do anything but question him first. I have alot of questions stored up for just an occasion. I definetly wouldn't kill an innocent child. Yep, why on earth would a loving God make you a killer? Why can't he take matters into his own hands, or better yet, redeem the baby, not kill him. And if he's omniscinet, he didn't have to create him. So is the dogma of Christianity
The late President Harry Truman once said he never answered "iffy" questions--a sensible position. You tell us this is God in the chair. Is he omniscient? Is he good? Until I could verify those two points, I certainly wouldn't go throwing a kid into a fire. And if he's omnipotent, why doesn't he throw the kid in himself?
I was an xtian once ~ and this is about the old "Abraham" test. even when i was a kid in sunday school i wondered about such a "god" that demands proof of allegiance by sacrificing a child in his name, and that doesn't sound like a god who knows the inner workings of anyone's heart. ditto the testing of Job scenario. this supposed god wholly relies on humans for validity, and in so doing reduces himself to something far less than the humans who are supposed to worship him. as i said, even as a child i questioned this. to accept such a "god" requires an absence of intellectual maturity and scrutiny.
dood...seriously!!!! or in my case the cid, at that point if you cant sit back and laugh at that situation, then i dont think you deserve to be a human being.
