I find this to be a protest against the American people, my country. We all took the oath in one form or another. Freedom does have a price and you do have to fight for it. If you have forgotten what the pledge of allegiance says...look into the writer's forum and you will find in there "The Pledge" written by me and contains 3 parts. 1.)what it says 2.) lamen's terms 3.) what we've done. I suggest a revolution, a civil war. Fear the government? Yeah right, we've handed it over to them on a silver platter. I suggest to fulfill your oaths and become unafraid for a less messed up future for everyone on Earth. It's one thing to police the world but you have to be just and the world hate's us because of the lies this country has created. Stand up! Wake up! Fight back! Fulfill your oath's!

This statement has no validity, sorry. I'm talking about the pledge of allegiance and bringing people to reality. I read other postings before posting and that's why I posted what I did. Maybe some need a better understanding of words.

Furthermore despite the history of the pledge, I find it irrelevant compared to it's lamens terms. It's talking about not letting tyranny and oppression happen. Doing nothing about it brings bloodshed. I guess some of you want that to happen.

the pledge is pretty meaningless. i just remember all those days of spitting up those words every day in school and not knowing (or caring, for that matter) what it meant. if you really want to pledge your allegiance to something, it should be done intrinsically and on your own terms. these tired mantras simply lose effect with time and trial.

You suggest a revolution and a civil war???? How could this possibly make sense? That would contradict your alligence to the flag. That's called seceding-also known as "braking the law." How about you try pledging alligence to common sense.

A revolution is what America needs, America is a horrible place, corruption, poverty, people that have to enter prostitution to support their children...

And its still the richest nation in the world.

I was also one who didn't pledge the allegiance growing up, but when I joined the Army I had to until I found my way out. All I am trying to say by this stuff is that something needs to be done instead of sitting idle complaining about this shit. I pledge to no country, but I think we should all pledge to not allow corruption, tyranny, and oppression. Pledging to no man? I find that a weak statement but well, you should at least pledge to yourself and wanting freedom from all this crap and doing whatever is necessary to end it. Whatever that is is not for me to tell, it's up to you to decide that.

I dont want to offend you anything, but perhaps it is cause you dress like that? Parenths are worried what other parenths will think of their children.

we acnt have a civil war, all we need is our voices to be heard, no one can do everythin they want,if we really wanted that we wouldent be mad at the government cause they do what they want, the problem is a small group of people decide for all of us, i dont want murder laws abolished,i dont want the cops gone, i want drugs legalized, i want a country where if i stand outside i dont have to worry about bein arrested, there will be no new revolution, all the hippies are lazy, only a few want to do anything except drugs or fuck or bitch, but we need thousands so we can march on washington like they did in the 60s,a few gets us in jail a thousand gets us heard, if the movement started up again theyd have no choice.

aladdin leave her alone. you have no right to tell her that and she probably will be offended. and what you said is a stereotype. not all parents care about how their kids dress. shes 14 for gods sake, leave her alone.

as for the pledge, i remember every single day in elementary school saying those words and NOT KNOWING WHAT THEY MEANT. thats the problem, these kids are taught the damn thing at such a young age, then they go reciting it 180 days or so a year, and some even get yelled at if they dont say it! I started realizing this my freshman year and didn't recite it anymore after that. I had an acting coach one year whose kid went to elementary school in CA. The little boy refused to say it (he must've been in 5th grade at the time) and the teacher asked him why. He said he wasn't saying it anymore because he didn't know what it meant. He then got sent out of the room. What kind of crap is this? If you give those helpless little children a whole paragraph of something to say and don't even tell them what the hell it means, why should they come to school every single morning and recite it to a flag without any meaning?? (not the flag, the alleigance.) Something needs to be done about this. It's ridiculous and if I'm gonna raise my kids in this country, they'll either know what the hell it means, or they won't say it at all. period.

As for what's actually in it...
    ''One nation, under GOD...''
Excuse me, but what are the little Muslim and little African and little whoever else children supposed to say when their parents moved here, the kids were born in the country but perhaps they don't believe in the same GOD that ''we'' do?

It's sad that we still ''pledge our alleigance'' to a country that has brought so much death and destruction in the past seven years.

I keep noticing opinions and more opinions. Shouldn't matter how we look. Take a look inside with how a person feels. You shouldn't fear your neighbor because how they look. What's wrong with you? Ever stop to wonder that what we look like has reflected on parents teaching and abuse? Black is a color to ward off negativity. Think. Do some detective work instead of making toxic assumptions. Get to know them and why they feel the way they do. Interact, don't fuckin hide. Hiders have let this country (U.S) fall.
