I'll be there, camping at Lake Sallie. If you see a huge red Miller High Life shade tent, stop and say hello!
Well... unfortunately I will not be attending 10klf... due to lack of funds... sold my ticket the other day.... but for an Update... Steve Kimock will be playing with Ratdog at 10k!!
Sweet deal on a poster- The Conscious Alliance and the 10,000 Lakes Festival are proud to announce our 3rd Annual 10KLF Food Drive to benefit the White Earth Indian Reservation of Minnesota. Donate 10 or more non-perishable food items to receive a limited edition 10KLF poster by renowned artist Marq Spusta. Ramen noodles do not count, ha!!! I guess the Conscious Alliance benefits local food pantries and impoverished Indian reservations around the US. We’re flying into Minneapolis and then driving a rental over to Detroit Lakes- there’s construction around Hwy 10, so make plans for an alternative route. For those of you who’s ride plans that got screwed up, you can hop on a shuttle coach bus from Minneapolis…think the cost us under $75. I’m not entirely sure, but it’s a round trip. There might even be a shuttle from Fargo. Check out the site- http://mrbusdriver.com

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (AP) - Two people have died at a music festival in Minnesota, including a central Illinois man. The 35-year-old man from Emden, Illinois, was found dead at a campground early yesterday near the 10,000 Lakes Music Festival in Minnesota. His name hasn't been released. A second man -- Ian Arvid Mortensen of Winona, Minnesota, was found unresponsive about 12 hours later in a restroom behind the stage area. The sheriff's office says Mortensen may have overdosed on drugs, and it appears the Illinois man had a medical condition. Autopsies were planned. About 15,000 people are attending the 4-day music festival, which ends today. Authorities conducted a drug sweep at the festival yesterday, seizing nearly $25,000 worth of Ecstasy, heroin, cocaine and mushrooms. About a dozen people were arrested. Thats crazy.. that Ian guy is from where I live... Glad I'm not up there sorta... I'm sure its hotter than hell up there right now
It was actually quite nice. Highs around 85 and a nice breeze all week. I only heard about the one guy who died, i think it was Thursday night/early Friday morning because Friday night they had huge spotlights near the bathrooms.
the festival was amazing... there's nothing more beautiful than bobby weir singing "terrapin station" in a cloud of multi-colored smoke.
