    Hi there!

I'm a bit of a newbi here but I have a couple of questions about Amsterdam... My first is, are there any season Amsterdam travellers or locals that know anything of the Qbic Hotels? My boyfriend and I have booked there for Sept 29th - Oct 3rd and they said they were opening in early July... I was wondering if anyone knows if they are open yet or if they have pushed the date later....

Also, where the hotel is located is on the outskirts of the city... In the Zuid WTC... which is just a little outside of the 'old south' (I have been researching for ages).. I wil be arriving at about 6pm and was wondering if coffee shops are open that late (as the best thing I can think of to 'pick me up' after a long day of travel is a bit of smoke!) and also, are there any CS around that area, or will I have to trek into the city to find some?

    Thanks a lot! ;)

Lots of coffeeshops are open to 1AM weeknights and until 3AM on weekends.
The best coffeeshops are in the Centrum which is about a 20 to 30 minute ride on the #5 tram. I wouldn't think about walking it as it would take me somewhere around 85 minutes at a moderate pace.

There are some shops in the Zuid- www.coffeeshopfreeuk.com lists them. I don't think any of them are real close to the hotel.
