Need more cheapo veg gardening ideas...

    Also if you are planting in pots not in the ground add some sand to your mix.

    Did you think about peas - regular green type? They help put potassium back into the soil and you can use the vines for green manure!

    Sea Breeze good thought but I think it's going to be way too hot in Tennessee for peas this time of year, but they should be on the list for next spring.

    I'd rather dump my clippings where they will be used up front than turning a compost pile. Dumping it under the corn would probably keep the weeds down and add some nitrogen.
