I was wondering if anyone has heard of it. It is my favorite band I've ever heard. Im not referring to the post 1976 pop-rock Genesis, but before then they had about 7 albums that were amazing. It is the best music I have ever heard. If you have heard of them, reply! If you havent, I suggest downloading a song from the album "Selling England by the Pound". Its really cool.

Utterly fantastic prog rock... my favorite by a long shot, at that. My favorite album is that box set with all the live recordings from the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway tour... I listened to everything I could get my hands on that era Genesis for months and months on end...

I'm a fan of all eras of Genesis. The one thing that I can say about them is they continually progressed forward from album to album. From 1977 on they had to adapt to the times or would be left behind ie: Pink Floyd and others. Truthfully, I like a lot of the post Gabriel material because it's a lot more accessible. If Genesis "sold out" they would of been putting albums out that they wouldn't approve of. BTW, Duke and Abacab rank among their best albums ever.

Their early stuff is great, though I can't say I feel the same for most of their Collins-fronted material, with the exception of some parts of A Trick of the Tail, which is a bit too commercial for my tastes, though still a great album.

I think Trick of the Tail was in one way Genesis' last artistic gasp before taking the plunge into mainstream, but I really love that album. Squonk is amazing!

I am a big Genesis Fan. I love everything from "From Genesis To Revelation" to "Calling all Stations" out of "Abacab" and "Invisible Touch".

The first LP's are my alltime favorites. I now listen to them every day since I saw "The Musical Box" in may and I sill can't get enough of them.
